Baby Rabbits: Remove them form burrow/nest?
I have known that our female rabbit was pregnant for a while. We though she miscarried, because we never found any baby rabbits...until today. (Our rabbits are kept outside) I was watching the female dig something. and I saw her uncover the nest and reveal the three baby rabbits. They have fur, but I couldn't tell if their eyes are open or not. Right now they are in the dirt nest that their mother built outside, covered up nicely. Should we remove the lil bunnies immediately and put them in a nesting box or wait until they are old enough to go out on their own?
Some of them already have their eyes open.

you really shouldn't do anything for now.it is not true that touching them will cause the mother to abandon them. But for now,I suggest to just wait for them to go out on their own.
unless the mother rabbit is not anymore capable of handling the kits, you shouldn't remove them.wait until they had opened their eyes.
cheers!

you dont have to do anything with the rabbits the mother will take care of them. if you move them before theyre ready you will ruin everything adn the mother wont want them anymore. thus far, killing them.
dont touch them. even if theyre outside of the nesting box she'll make another nest and move them.

I have had rabbits before and YES! You should definitely take the mommy and babies away from the father! He will sometimes even KILL them by biting them! The mother is harmless but the Father is only there for the mating process. Once he is done, he is done and that is all he will ever do! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me!
