Christians, why do some of you claim that the anti christ will be muslim and will be Obama like quoted below?

We've had plenty of people who have had persuasive language, have made false promises of hope and peace, and are destroying everything. We don't have to wait for the next election to get that....we have it now.

The Bible could not say he would be a Muslim, well it could as prophecy, but not in so many words, because Islam did not exist for several hundred years after the Bible was written. The idea of the people of the world flocking to him, of him seeming good until his true being is revealed is more what the Bible says. But there is nothing that says anything like that, or his age, etc. The deception and all that, yes.

But that covers most modern politicians running for office in any American, European or probably most other countries.

And we're back to that old Obama is Muslim. If so, who cares. But he's not. HE IS NOT THE ANTICHRIST! That's so ridiculous. Remember, Hitler had millions of Germans nearly worshipping him. If he was not the Anti-Christ, I don't know who is.

And if you went back 50 years, to the height of the Cold War, I bet 9 out of 10 people who were asked would have said the Anti-Christ would be a Communist leader. A lot if asked if he would be a Muslim, they might have said "A what?"

20 or 30 or 50 or a hundred years from now, problems between Christians and Muslims might be over or lessened, (I don't think Islam will go away, like Soviet Communism) but some other threat, possibly unheard of today will come along and people will be sure whatever that group is will have the Anti-Christ. Look at all of the other conflicts down through history that have seemed literally like the end of the world and then either ended completely or faded. Some continue, and the problems between Christianity and Islam are certainly not new (Crusades) but have not always been at the forefront of what was going on in the world.

The Book of Revelation with all due respect gives no such description of the anti-christ...

The false hope and promises of world peace are part of a prophecy but they are not in the Book of Revelation they are in the earlier prophecies in the Hebrew Scriptures.

As far as HE destroying everything... look closely and you will see tht the one who will destroy "everything", meaning all wickedness will be Jehovah God himself, not the anti-christ which is a class of people, not a single individual.

That view doesn't represent all Christians. That is just that person's view. The bible doesn't say that he will be muslim at all. That person just inferred that from their own prejudice. It doesn't even say it will be an individual person because the writers of the bible referred to antichristS plural that existed even in their own time! It also mentions the "spirit" of antichrist. Please don't think that we all agree with that person but I know what you mean. I have seen people write that on this forum, too. I don't know why they think that.

Where is that in the book of revelations? Can you give a link? Obama for the millionth time is NOT a muslim.

if these people read up on theyre history thentheyd know that the book of revelations wasnt a 'prophecy' or the word of god or any of that crap...

it was written by prisoners in code, in the time of king Nero, they would refer to Nero as the anti-christ and as the devil etc because he was the very essence of evil; he'd cover the prisoners in Tar and light them on fire and have them all around his castle as human torches...

And if Obama had a "Christ like appeal", it wouldn't be called an "election" it would simply be called an appointment.

You have to read the Book of Revelation and do not rely on some jerk who interpreted it for you.
