Planning a themed luncheon at work?
I need to come up with a theme for a luncheon at work so that people can bring certain dishes. We are doing it as a surprise for Bosses Day. There will be 12 people eating but only 5 people making dishes. I need help and quick!

I think the easiest "theme" for a luncheon is a backyard bar-b-que. You can have everything from hamburgers and hot dogs, potato salad, pasta salad, etc. Everyone knows how to make something for a cook out (cheapest too). It always goes over well. Another possible option is a "Little Italy" theme with an Italian buffet!

I threw a party for my staff and it was an Italian theme...I made a few different types of noodles and several different types of sauces. I also had salad, bread, drinks. For dessert I served vanilla ice cream with a variety of toppings. To set the tone I spread out checked table cloths and got napkins and plates with an italian theme. I also put out plastic grapes and colored glass bottles to decorate. I put different people in charge of getting different items. That way even if they didn't cook they would still share in the time, effort and expense.
