I should have gotten my UI check today, as I get it every Monday but I didn't. I can't get information from the "check line" and I cannot get an actual person on the line through the 800 number. It is always busy and says to call back. I need to get a hold of a person. Anyone know how I can do this?

I need to come up with a theme for a luncheon at work so that people can bring certain dishes. We are doing it as a surprise for Bosses Day. There will be 12 people eating but only 5 people making dishes. I need help and quick!

I have withheld my rent for this month (I did get legal advice before doing so). I am going to leave in the next week or two if the inhabitable living conditions are not repaired and resolved. Can I get back my security deposit?

I am 5 days late on my period. I had some spotting the other day but that was it. I have had my period for 17 years – I am never late unless I am pregnant. BUT – I can’t be pregnant because I had my tubes tied 5 years ago when I was 24. So, I guess what my question is – what could be causing this? I don’t think AI am under any more stress than I normally am. I really don’t want to go to the doctor for no reason. Any ideas?

I have a Audiovox 8910. I was trying to set my voicemail up and I pressed a button on accident. I don't know what button I pushed. Now my voicemail is in Spanish. I don't know how to change the language and I checked the manual and there is nothing on this. Anyone know what I can do. Maybe someone has the same phone and can go through their voicemail and see what numbers I need to push to get to language options???

My mother in law is my minister and she is letting me have some say in what is said at the ceremony. I am looking for an alternative to "Who gives this woman away?". My dad has said that he refuses to "give me away". So what else can be said that somewhat implies that without actually saying it??

I am having difficulties picking a gift for my cousin, who is my matron-of-honor. She has done SO much to help me out during the planning of my wedding. I wanted to get her something special. I was thinking a plaque of some sort or a necklace? I have search for months and just haven't found the right thing. She has always been there for me and I want her to know that I truly appreciate it. Any suggestions?

I sent out the invitations to my wedding over 2 weeks ago. I have had a few people inform me that they did not receive theirs. I have no invitations left, due to some last minute add-ons. I want these people at my wedding! Does anyone know of a website that does E-invitations? I know if it comes down to it, I can get some do-it-yourself-ones, but I don't want those to get lost in the mail too.

Ok, I have been working out for months now. I walk 3.5 - 7 miles a day, do 30 minutes of step aerobics, 5 days a week, 20 minutes on the rowing machine 5 days a week and do 45 tricep extensions with 5-pound dumbells on each arm twice a day. I have lost weight and lots of inches everywhere BUT my arms! I have been told that there is no such thing as "spot reducing" and cardio is the best way to lose inches and tone up. I am getting married in 2 months and I look like a football player in my dress! Help!! I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Ok, here is my issue. I asked my mother in law to do my hair for my upcoming wedding. Now, I want an low-updo but she thinks I should pile a bunch of curls on the top of my head. I do not want this and have voiced it to her several times. Now I have convinced her that it is my day and my hair should be the way I want it. BUT now we have a problem with my veil. I want it on top of my head - it's just that I have always imagined my veil kind of cascading over my shoulders - and she says that since my hair will be up (really, it's like the nape of my neck!) that I HAVE to wear the veil under my bun. I really don't like the way it looks on me. Yes, we have messed with my hair when I am wearing my dress and I really, really do not like the veil the way she wants it. She says that it is improper to have a veil on the top of the head with any kind of updo. I disagree. I think it would look fine. Who's right?

I am flying in one next month and am a little curious about the plane. It seats 50, so I assume it is much smaller than a 737 or 727 as I am used to...I have heard that the turbulence is felt much more on this plane. Is the take off similar to a larger jet? (I love the take off!) Any input would be nice - I like to know about the kinds of planes I fly before I get on them =]

I have a problem. I want to invite some of my family to my wedding, but not all. I have never been close with one of my aunts, or her children - or spawn, as I like to call them. Even though we all grew up together and appeared as a tight knit family, I always felt uncormfortable around them. Now, I wanted to invite my other aunt and an uncle. I understand it is my day and I should invite who I want, but that's not how it works with my family. My dad would never hear the end of it and I don't want to do that to him. So, since I absolutely refuse to invite my aunt and her clan, should I really just leave the rest of my family out of my wedding? I am really torn because I hear from some to leave them all out and others say to suck it up and invite everyone and then people tell me to invite who I want. I don't want to hurt any feelings, but I don't want to feel uncomfortable at my own weddiing! Thanks ahead for any advice!

I was named after the song "Melissa" by the Allman Brothers. I thought it would be nice to dance with my dad to this song at my wedding, but I have been told that would be considered conceited of me (I don't know how so). Anyway, I was curious on what others thought of this idea?
