Anyone ever flown in a CRJ 100?

I am flying in one next month and am a little curious about the plane. It seats 50, so I assume it is much smaller than a 737 or 727 as I am used to...I have heard that the turbulence is felt much more on this plane. Is the take off similar to a larger jet? (I love the take off!) Any input would be nice - I like to know about the kinds of planes I fly before I get on them =]

THE CRJ 100 is a regional jet used on flights from 1-2 hours in length. Manufactured in Canada, it is used by many airlines for shot haul flights. I prefer the Embraer Jets (similar to the CRJ, but these are manufactured in Brazil).

The CRJs (and ERJs) usually have a lot of turbulence if entering a zone where there are high winds or a storm nearby. They are highly uncomfortable for tall passengers as there isn't too much space to stretch one's legs. They are WAY smaller than a Boeing 737/727 so don't be surprised if you have to board the plane by walking out on the tarmac and boarding like that as many airport connectors sometimes can't connect to these small regional jets because of their size.

I fly a CRJ-100 about every other week...

Turbulence? Not so much more than anything else, actually. I never notice it.

I prefer to sit in seat "A" because it's a single seat, where the B and C seats are tight and right next to each other. The seats are slightly narrower than a regular coach class seat on a 737, so be prepared for that. Not as much legroom, and their is only overhead compartments on one side of the plane (over the B and C seats).

Takeoff and landing feel about the same to me.

BUT it's not so bad, really.

I take that particular jet with Delta Airlines when I travel intrastate here in Florida. I haven't felt anymore turbulence on that jet than on any other. The take off is the same as on a larger jet. As stated previously, it maybe a litlle uncomfortable if you are on the tall side like me and you'll probably board and de plane on the tarmac, but all in all, it's basically the same as the larger jet. Make sure you use the restroom before you board, the CRJ's restrooms are smaller than that of the average jet.

No problems a great little plane, smaller than plane the more the movement. But a good crew make a smooth flight. Take off is quick, but boarding and disembacking is very quick.

I hate the plane. Its cramped and crowded and a big man like myself has a hard time getting up and around. It is next to impossible to use the head, there is no head room and aside form that its just great.
