  • Why do people bring babies on airplanes?

I've been traveling weekly on commercial airlines for about six months now, and I've been checking up on some of the questions here. I see when I travel a lot of people taking toddlers on airplanes, and people here asking what's the best way to travel with babies.

I can't stand it when someone brings a baby or toddler on the flight I'm on. They're loud, obnoxious, mischevious, kick the seats, and extremely irritating to other passengers.

Plus, it's really really really bad for the kids, especially young ones. The constant changes in air pressure is painful to them, the place is new, the large amount of people is threatening ...

Why, pray tell, do people expose their children to this environment (and when will airlines figure out that babies don't belong on airplanes)??

  • Why do I lose sound in one earbud?

I've gone through three sets of earbuds with my MP3 player. After use of about 3 months, one earbud (usually the left one) goes out and does not play. I can replace it, and the replacement works fine... for about 3 months... Is the life expectancy of earbuds about 3 months, or is something else happening here?

  • What "wars" have been caused by religion?

I've heard loads of people blame religion for wars, especially Christianity. And granted there have been a few.

Here's my drill: how many "wars" can you name that are religious-based and how many can you name that are not religious-based?? Then, after we sum it all up--can we truly put blame where it belongs?

  • Hey everyone, has anyone kept up on the "life on Mars" thing? Turns out that...?

... no one but NASA believes it anymore, at least according to this article. What are your thoughts??

  • Am I responsible for collections against an S-corporation that is no longer in business?

Several years ago in the state of Illinois I owned 100% of an S-Corporation that I used for consulting work and myself as the only employee. I have since dissovled that corporation and re-located to another state.

Today I got a phone call for a $600 collection against that company. Am I responsible for payment at this point?

  • Has anyone ever really had the Bible "Crammed down their throat" ???

I hear people often say "He crammed the bible down my throught" or "beat me over the head with the Bible." Obviously this is a figure of speech. I'm interested in comments about this phrase and how people think it came in to being.

  • What responsibilities do companies have to keeping promises made to employees and staff??

I have found that in the past, loyalty to a company was repaid handsomely. Today it seems that loyalty is not rewarded at all and in fact companies at least appear to have no ethical problem whatsoever to lie to their staff about any number of things that affect their daily lives (things like the stability of the company, growth in revenue... etc).

What really do companies need to do, and what should we as staff truly expect?
