do pathological liars stop lying?

I've recently met a man whom i've come to realise lied about a lot of things he's said to me. From properties he's owned, to the people he's dated, to his financial status..to why he didnt answer the phone. some have been really bizarre.

Initially, i thought it was because of his low self esteem, but why would he lie about small things? Im wondering.. even if he got a better paying job one day (n his self esteem sky rocketed), would he stop lying? CAN a pathological liar stop lying ever?

Update:

should we offer to talk to them about their problems?? or would that be a waste of time?

    leopards don't change their spots!

It would take a very special person to admit and address the problems. It's worth trying but unless they can admit to themselves they actually have a problem - change would be impossible. Of course if someone wants to change then they will. The question is would you ever really trust that person again? I've never witnessed a pathological liar admit to a problem and seek help for it. But good luck with it.

save your mouth close. stay faraway from human beings, public, acquaintances and relatives till you learn duty on your strikes and comments. Its spoke of as growing to be up. every person has lied , for solid or undesirable. a minimum of you recognize your weak point and keen to repair it. Guilt has its advantages, sounds like your a solid man or woman . solid success to you.

I think it's unlikely without recieving some kind of help. Especially if he's still lying when there is no apparent reason for it..

When someone chooses to lie about stuff that doesn't really matter, you really shouldn't expect the truth about anything at all ever.

They change when the old approach stops getting them what they want. No one else can speed this up..
