What's it gonna take to heal America's economic woes ?

How "bout..Say there's 200 million taxpayers(+/-) the 85 Billion we bailed AIG out with, divided equally among these people, equals $425,000 each, but not tax free,(say 30%) ,leaving$ 297,500 each,$595,000( for married filing joint ) each person pays back $127,500,thus the Gov gets back 25 Billion in tax revenues,This "family plan" only costs 59.5 Bil. and with each taxpayer now with $297,500. how could this plan NOT fix the problem...

Update:

What would you do with yours? pay off mortgage(housing crisis fixed) put it in the bank(lending crisis helped) buy a new car, spend ,spend, spend, spend,

Update 2:

Thanks for the math lesson, but, you do follow my theory, even if it costs 100 times that at least it goes to fix the problem, not the top few (basically,it's taxpayers loaning themselves the money)

What is going to heal the economic woes is that people stop making social programs a way of life and get out there and work and not live beyond their means. I have nothing against helping anyone who needs it...but there should be limits and conditions to that help!

Including paying back some of that money they took so others don't' suffer either! If you can't afford a family...don't have it. How irresponsible to bring children into this world and not be able to provide for them.

Second...stop the easy credit. EARN IT! WORK..SAVE AND EARN what you get...and stop yelling foul because you lived past your means. Get a second job like most of us did to provide and buy a house. The Ameican Dream is NOT an ENTITLEMENT..it is a right! A right you WORK FOR! and you don't deserve the 200,000 home if you can't afford it. you get what you pay for!

What is so wrong with that?

Stop yelling fat lazy rich people when they got off their butts and got that money with education and hard work and courage...you never worked for a POOR person...you work for RICH people..so stop punishing them for what you don't have !

GIVING money away is only a bandaid because people don't LEARN from mistakes that way. THEY get handouts and they want MORE handouts. If you gave everyone a million dollars ...you can bet in less than a year most would be yelling for MORE money because they were busy buying luxuries instead of basics and funding and saving and investing in the future by REMAINING WORKING and saving.

It is PEOPLE that need changed...and the government needs to stop enabling them to be dependent on them.

I have nothing against helping those HELP THEMSELVES..but there should be a LIMIT to that help..and a plan to help them stand up on their own for GOOD!

too many people live off of social programs....and cry about not having what they want. No one is stopping you....it is hard work...but it IS YOUR LIFE...not MINE!

I am almost 61...I worked my two jobs...I saved...I sent my kids to college and they worked too.....why should I pay for YOU?

Unfortunately, it's going to take a massive leveling of the economy. Both government and individuals are going to have to stop spending money they do not have. When that happens, the economy will slump like nobody's business! It's going to take everybody beginning to pay back their debts, and that doesn't mean by creating more imaginary money. It means higher taxes and lower expectations. But to continue on the course we have followed for decades now can only bring a much more severe collapse of the economy, something like Zimbabwe.

The country roar with a Democrat President and a Republican Congress.

Think about that for a moment.

What we need to do is not look to Washington to solve our problems but to our selves.

To take responsibility for own actions.

Look for the best solutions and stop this nonsense to think that one party has all the correct answers and the other is dumb stupid etc.

We need to put away our own egos and work together.

Using credit is like a drug. Starve an addiction, cure a habit. It's not easy and it's not a quick fix, but the alternative is complete economic destruction. This is true for Wall Street, Main Street and My Street.

Well I think its not as bad as it could be or may become down the road-as for 'fixing it' really the best way to boost the economy is for people to spend money , honestly....by people spending in smart ways such as re doing their kitchen in their home not only boosts the economy but also in the long run will make their home value increase when the economy starts back on the rise....spend smartly for things that will last or improve in value...

    Get this.....

The SUPPLY of goods and services is a constant.

Therefore, the only thing being accomplished is MORE money chasing after a limited supply of goods/services.

    So....

expect to pay $20 for a Happy Meal next year ....

    no matter whom is elected....

Because the math is incorrect. Use your calculator to divide that and find that you are 100 times too big on the number that each person would get.

    85,000,000,000 divided by 200,000,000 = $425

Elect a president who supports business and doesn't allow the government to do social engineering (as in the way the Dems forced, yes forced, banks to grant mortgages to unqualified people, including millions of illegal aliens.

No more goody-goody social engineering. Owning a house is not a right. Never again.

Deport the arab, that is running for president, because he does not have a valid birth certificate. That would do wonders for the economy.
