700 Billion Bail out?

I'm looking for some solid answers here, I'm not an economist, so I want to see what people think.

OK with that 700b bail out package, how about giving every taxpayer $150,000. This money would be instantly put back into the economy. People would catch up on their mortgages, pay off their credit cards and purchase from small business. I do think it would trickle up and get this economy running.

I'm sure I'm missing something here, I wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Thanks

Sounds like a GREAT answer to me. Us poor folks are having the worst trouble ever trying to survive! I've got 3 children to supply for and it's coming down to pay the bills or eat...There's been a few nights that I have went without eating so that my kids could. I love them and want to provide for them but how do I do that with this economy? I've already got a part-time job, a full-time job and I'm going to college online. What's a mom to do?! So, yeah, that sounds really good to me!!

You must have gotten that silly e-mail that's been going around. It's not even close to the same as giving each American $150,000. It's more like $5,000 per taxpayer.

Anyway, it certainly would have been more effective to at the very least to make a plan directly loaning the money to the home owners that need it.

Actually that $700 billion is not correct. Remember they (our dear Democratic CONGRESS) added PORK to this money, and the figure with all of the added extras with an unlimited top dollar could reach into the TRILLIONS. Furthermore, it will be paid by us, the taxpayer.
