should i stay with XP of get VISTA?

i have windows xp, i like it, but is vista better than xp...before i heard it wasnt but now im hearing that vista is better...i just want to try something new...i like how vista has the quality of stuff on the cpu...

heres a kinda stupid question, but is there by any chance that i can back up my windows xp on a flash drive or something so if i dont like vista, i can just re-install xp?? because i heard that xp is now dis continued and not being sold again so i want to make sure....its kinda a stupid question but just wondering if its possible...

extra details: I have intel vivv dual core processor..and I have a dell xps400 which is fairly new about 2 years maby less, but the processor is fast enough..

    ive had an old pc with windows xp for several years, but i just recently bought a laptop with windows vista, and i have no complaints.

    Depend on what you want to do with Vista. I would not upgrade unless you need a specific feature in Vista. My company will not go to Vista as it has problems with our development software.

    If you have money to throw away and decide to try Vista then you should backup you current OS so you can restore it of you want to go back.

    You can still buy XP and many insist on it. You can still get some new computers with XP on them.

    Although Windows Vista has become more stable i would still recommend windows xp.

    as for the second part of your question

    if you still have the xp cd key you can put xp back on anytime if you have the cd and the key code for it

    id stay with XP especially if you have an older pc. You really need at least minimum 2gb of ram to run Vista and at that imo it runs slower. Depending on your processor as well but if you have something older then id say 2 years id stick with XP.
