How do you feel about Obama's remark about redistributing wealth to be fair?
The one with the small business owner asking about him raising his taxes.

It's definitely socialism. Most small businesses will have extra taxes based on what he's said anyway based on what he's said. The taxes apply to every business and person who has an annual income of $250,00 or more. This doesn't factor how much it costs to maintain your business or etc. So, for example. I worked for a family owned operation that made about $500,00 their first year in business. The husband had a second job, and they were still struggling. They were making it, but it wasn't easy because they have to spend the money they make to purchase what they're selling and keep the shop up to standards. Based on Obama's plan they would still be paying more taxes at the end of the year because their yearly income was over $250,000 even though their profit was not.
AND I also live in a home that runs a small business, and we make more than $250,00 a year, but there are times when we're struggling just to make it until the next month.
The thing to keep in mind is that this tax is NOT based on how much money you have left after your expenses, but on how much you make throughout the entire year without including those expenses and such.

I always liked this explanation that even young, already brainwashed students could understand:
A young teenage girl was about to finish her first year of college. She considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat but her father was a rather staunch Republican.
One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition to taxes and welfare programs. He stopped her and asked her how she was doing in school.
She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA but it was really tough. She had to study all the time, never had time to go out and party. She didn't have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of spending all her time studying.
He asked, "How is your friend Mary." She replied that Mary was barely getting by. She had a 2.0 GPA, never studied, but was very popular on campus, went to all the parties all the time. Why she often didn't show up for classes because she was hung over.
Dad then asked his daughter why she didn't go to the Dean's office and ask why she couldn't take 1.0 off her 4.0 and give it to her friend who only had a 2.0. That way they would both have a 3.0 GPA.
The daughter angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair, I worked really hard for mine and Mary has done nothing".
The father slowly smiled and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party".

Trust me, this is far from being Socialism. If someone is making over $ 250,000.00 a year, I am sure if they got a small tax increase that they would not become homeless or be sacrificing the quality of their lives. Get real people. Most small business owners do not make more than $ 250,000.00 a year, and so many people are over reacting to this tax plan. The U.S.A. is in a financial crisis and compromises have to be made to help out, this happens to be a small adjustment in taxes for high incomes and so they don't get to drink as many martinis as usual. Greed is one of the causes of this mess and I can see it prevails in most people, nothing will change unless everyone contributes in some way. The good old U.S.A. should take a few lessons from Canada, a posting from JEN, is right on. Nobody in Canada looses their home because a family member needs surgery, and Canada is not Socialistic. Canada does not have the poverty that U.S.A. has, poverty and living conditions for the average and poor in U.S.A. is appalling. Unfortunately drastic measures have to be taken to save U.S.A. from financial disaster and to gain international respect. EDIT: I see the truth hurts and is difficult for people to accept, one of the many reasons the greed in the U.S.A. has caused all financial woes. Don't people learn from past mistakes, you get what you reap.

No, I do not that plumber in the video probably works very hard for a living.
I find it interesting that Obama and Michelle wish for us to share:
Our Wealth
Our Pizza
Our Pie
Turn down our Thermostats
And yet they do not appear to have given a damn thing up, they live in a mansion with a nanny, cook, and they have not volunteered nor have they given much to charity other than TUCC.

Sounds like socialism, or at the very least, communism. Is he texting with Fidel Castro from Cuba, Hugo Chavez from Venezuela, the North Korean guy and Mugabe from Africa? Next thing you know (if he gets to be President), we'll all be riding on donkeys or horses to save gasoline!!

It really sounds good and I am sure the 'bleeding heart' Liberals are all for it.
When he says 95% of the people does Obama really mean even those who don't pay taxes? Something to think about.

hail OBAMA our leader....
Yes take my money my great savior
what ever you say great savior
what a weasel this Obama is!
Really everyone who makes around 250,000 dollars will cut back so that they fall under the Obama tax code!
I smell lay offs! Why work hard or create jobs if Obamas elected?
I agree CEOs of large corps make to much however the people hurt the most by Obamas taxes will be small Business owners.. hands down

"redistributing wealth to be fair"
Work hard, spend conservatively and invest properly so Obama can give it to those who don't and won't do it.
This is not fair it is punishing those who do these things and rewarding the ones who dont.
Enough of these give aways..If you want it go to work and get it and don't be jealous of those who have and then try take it away from them.

I want to make sure that the people below you get propped up on your back buddy, notice how I'm talking softly, smiling, and not making any sudden moves when I say that?
That pretty much sums up how I feel.

People are going to mention socialism, but under Bush we are now seeing privatization of banks. Why can't be then privatize health which everyone needs.
Anyway - I digress. The problem is like this. Imagine that you live in an apartment building with 100 apartments. But 25 owners have left since they can no longer afford to live there. So now that 75 owners that are left are going to have to pick up the slack for the missing common charges.
So that's the problem right now. There are 700,000,000,000 in common charges that all of us have to pay for. Where does anyone imagine that this money is coming from?
