Pro runners Only please.?

I started my training for next year's LA Marathon. Does anyone know of a good book I can learn about training preparation and diet. this will be my first marathon and my fitness level is about 9 mile jog max in about two hours. 5:04 tall and 34 yo male. Thanks

    Running: From Start To Finish written by John Stanton

    an excellent book for beginners to immediate levels. This book talks about basic training to advance training, nutrition, stretches, gear, and has training schedules as well. It is well written, easy to follow and realistic.

    "Jack Daniel's Running Formula" is a running bible. Almost any question you have about training, preparing, and racing will be in that book. Not so sure about diet, though...
