What did the flagship GAP store at Market and Powell in San Francisco used to be?

I must have walked past it a thousand times, and now I can't remember what that store used to be. I keep thinking "Montgomery Ward" but they went out of business ages ago, didn't they?

Close but no cigar. It was formerly a two floor Woolworths, sadly they are now out of business also. That store had a huge candy counter that made amazing fudge.

Nothing smelled quite like a Woolworths store a combination of popcorn, gum, and leather soled shoes.

Ya. The Woolworths used to have a old diner inside too! I was pretty good!
