Marriage to a Canadian citizen does not automatically give you citizenship. You must first apply and obtain permanent residence, then apply for Canadian citizenship and meet the same requirements as any other person seeking citizenship in Canada. Hope this helps

No way. You still have to go through filing for Canadian citizenship. My best friend married a Canadian and lived in Canada for 14 years before finally filling out paperwork for Canadian citizenship, which was a requirement for his job advancement. He now has dual citizenship.

No. My Mom was Canadian and she married an American. She still had to apply for and pass the tests to become an American citizen.

No. Just marrying a citizen of that country does not grant the other individual citizenship as well. You must apply, and in most cases be a permanent resident first, in which case, the citizen would have to petition for the spouse.
