Ghost images of nearly everything you do on your computer are semi-permanently etched into the hard-drive of every computer you've ever used. Skilled technicians can find every little thing you've ever done online, you wicked naughty boy.
There are ways to scrub your harddrive, but then you have to reinstall everything and it's almost not worth it, unless you're a major perv with a lot to hide.
And if I told you how to do it, the Thought Police would hunt me down and kill me.
And I'm not really sure why you asked this in Genealogy. There's a section for technonerds who might be of more help.

"Delete" just marks the disk space as available. If you don't then re-use it, a skilled techno-nerd can retrieve what was "deleted".
