Help with connectors?
I want to add plugs to convert my old Bose speakers into computer speakers. Is there a connector that will let me thread the separate positive and negative leads into a single unit, to plug into the standard speaker connection on my desktop computer?

1 AnswerYahoo Answers7 years agoBlack-powder revolver shooters -- what do you use for a powder flask?
I'm getting back into black powder shooting and would like to get the Colt's Dragoon powder flask which was issued with the .44 Dragoon when issued to troops in the 1850s -- but I'm unclear about exactly how useful it is, practically speaking, and how exactly it was worn in the field -- the strap-loops are tiny and seem like only a leather lanyard would fit them, which seems incorrect.
7 AnswersHunting7 years agoAbout Bose Acoustimass 5 speakers?
I've been using these speakers, bought new about 1992, as my rear surround speakers with my 5.1 system. It's time to reinstall, since I just moved again, and I'm wondering: do I NEED the passive woofer, for surround speakers, or does the powered one take care of ALL the bass? Not using that extra box would sure save hassel, and wire, and floorspace!

Post WWII, when political correctness came in, seems to have destroyed the pride the Brits used to have in being English. Just another part of the General Upheaval of the 20th Century? Seems silly to an outsider like me.
The British nation may have enslaved and exploited the world for four hundred years, but is that enough to cause this kind of sea change?

Since I got my new Seiki TV a couple of months ago, it hasn't worked well with my Verizon FiOS service. The installation info doesn't have a code for Seiki, to set the remote properly. Does anyone know that code?

A real question. IS there any difference?
6 AnswersRap and Hip-Hop9 years agoWhy won't my old (1989) CD read in my DVD-RW drive?
I'm trying to copy a lot of my old CDs into my iTunes library, but one disc won't play in my laptop's DVD-RW drive. The disc is clean, and plays on my BD player, but it does have some rainbow-looking striations on the label side.
The laptop's drive works fine -- I just tested it with a DVD.
The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A215; the drive is Matshita UJ-8505.
Any ideas??
If it matters, the CD in question is James Horner's soundtrack from the 1989 film, Glory.

2 AnswersMusic & Music Players9 years agoWhat do you think about this?
I've been cultivating a friendship with a woman who has made it quite clear she's not ready to date yet -- she's recently separated from her husband and not divorced yet. We are becoming friends and I think we're both pretty happy with the friendship's progress, but some of my friends think she should have stepped up and been more supportive when my mom died four weeks ago.
My friends don't know she *has* been supportive but not, apparently, as much as they would have expected.
I've told those naysayers that I think the woman is just sticking by her guns, and that I'm glad she has the confidence to remain true to herself, even in my time of need -- we are only casual friends so far, even if I might like it to go farther, eventually. (She might be up for that too, but hasn't said one way or the other -- I think she doesn't want to over-encourage me.)
I don't want to be this woman's "rebound guy" in any case so I continue to pursue the friendship, if not the romance end of it.
What do you guys think?

3 AnswersGenealogy10 years agoCan anyone tell me where CSA doctor Arthur Richardson Smith (1805-1866) is buried?
One of the heads of the Richmond Hospital came to Catonsville, MD, after the Civil War and died there in September 1866, In Richmond he'd been a member of the Old Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church -- in Catonsville, the equivalent church was St Timothy's P.E., but I can't find where exactly he's buried -- a descendent wants to know.
