Why won't my old (1989) CD read in my DVD-RW drive?

Question

I'm trying to copy a lot of my old CDs into my iTunes library, but one disc won't play in my laptop's DVD-RW drive.  The disc is clean, and plays on my BD player, but it does have some rainbow-looking striations on the label side.

The laptop's drive works fine -- I just tested it with a DVD.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A215; the drive is Matshita UJ-8505.  

Any ideas??

You can try to ask for support of the property developers who sells CD backup software. They will know what's the problem is.
 I also know a software website. Some software are free and some are charged. But every charged item you can try a few DVD before you purchase.
