Why won't my old (1989) CD read in my DVD-RW drive?

I'm trying to copy a lot of my old CDs into my iTunes library, but one disc won't play in my laptop's DVD-RW drive. The disc is clean, and plays on my BD player, but it does have some rainbow-looking striations on the label side.

The laptop's drive works fine -- I just tested it with a DVD.

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A215; the drive is Matshita UJ-8505.

Any ideas??

Update:

If it matters, the CD in question is James Horner's soundtrack from the 1989 film, Glory.

You can try to ask for support of the property developers who sells CD backup software. They will know what's the problem is.

I also know a software website. Some software are free and some are charged. But every charged item you can try a few DVD before you purchase. I used a any dvd cloner platinum for about 2 years and it works fine and keeps updating freely. I always copy movies and share with my friends. You can get some try.
