Do Parasites in our body make us FAT?

I saw in a weight lose guide that Parasites live in our bowels and muscles makes us fat. Is there any truth in that? So before trying to workout to lose weight must everyone go check for parasites living in their body?

Any Doctors, please comment on this matter. thank you.

    i think that you can have parasites that do this type of thing but the main reason for weight increase in eatting heaps and not exercising so your body stores fat ( kinda like when a bear eats heaps for hybernation and the exrta food is stored as fat and not all some "parasites" fault.

    You can't get fat because of parasites. In worst case scenario, you'd get thinner, because you would lose your appetite. And believe me, if you'd have parasites, you'd have a feeling there's something wrong with your body, because of constant diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.

    Being fat is just a result of a genetic predisposition and unhealthy eating habits.

    yes they actually can make you fat !!!! It happened to me... so I know. I took the anti parasitic drug my DR gave me and within 2 weeks I dropped 10 lbs and had a whole body edema disappeared as well has a TON of lumps/cysts that were all over my body. Shocking !! YES!! but it did happen !!!

    I know a tape worm is a parasite and you lose weight packing it around. Does an unemployed room-mate count as a parasite.

    The real reason people are fat is they eat poorly, don't exercise, drink sugared drinks, and live sedentary lives (lots of sitting around).

    Parasites in your body would feed off the food you eat and consume your calories. They can't make you fat. I sent this to my mother, who's a Registered Dietitian and she laughed.

    If this were true, it wouldn't be TOP SECRET!!!! Everyone would know.

    No, actually parasites do just the opposite. You'd get emaciated and thin if you are infected.

    eating water rich foods such as melons tomatoes and celery can help fill you up without adding too many calories to your day

    keeping good posture will not only strengthen your core but will also add a small extra calorie burn because you re working slightly harder to maintain the position
