What do the individual numbers mean on tires?

I'm getting new tires soon . Current tires are P265/70R16

I know the 16 is the rim size. Please when you answer pretend I'm really dumb. ( EG. What do the numbers mean and why)

    P = Passenger, LT = Light Truck

    265 = how wide your tire is in mm so your tire is 265 mm wide

    70 = is a percentage of width for height so you take 70 percent of 265 and that's your height

    and the 16 is the rim size in inches
