What NFL rule change would you suggest (and why)?

We've seen calls that the referees get "right" but we the fans think it's dumb, because of the rules. Or, we've seen referees get a call wrong, acknowledge they get it wrong, but they can't do anything about it because the rules don't let them overturn a call in a specific case.

Then, there are rules that have just been there forever, that don't necessarily make sense, but is now a part of the game.

What rules change would you suggest? Anything is fair game, from replay rules, to the number of downs, to celebration rules and stuff.

Update:

Fez said "Also, the kickoff-out-of-bounds rule. Just penalize 5 yards and make the team rekick. It doesn't take that long. 30 yards from the spot of the kick is too punitive."

I remember in high school, having 2 explosive kick returners on our team. The other team kept kicking it out of bounds and a 5 yard penalty + rekick was the penalty (in high school rules). Or, it was possibly a choice between ball at the 40, or a rekick and our coach chose to make them rekick.

Update 2:

Destin F wrote "u shouldnt get 2 points for a safety you should just turnover on downs"

Then where would the ball be spotted?

The tuck rule seems most obvious this season. However, it won't change. It was implemented to protect QB's from having to expose their arms, so therefore it will not be removed. Maybe there could be more clarity or allow it to be reviewable, not that a ref is likely to reverse their call, since the tuck rule is a subjective decision, not objective.

Defensive pass interference. Make it 15 yards and an automatic first down. The spot foul is ridiculous ... nothing should warrant a 50- or 60-yard penalty.

Also, the kickoff-out-of-bounds rule. Just penalize 5 yards and make the team rekick. It doesn't take that long. 30 yards from the spot of the kick is too punitive.

Instant replay reviews need to change. Make it like the college system, where the booth reviews every play as the game rolls on. If something needs to be reviewed, stop and review it. None of this stuff limiting teams to two or three challenges. If there are 6 bad calls against a team, all of them should be reviewable.

The tuck rule needs to go. If the ball is coming back toward the body, it's no longer a forward pass attempt.

And the overtime rule. Either let both teams have possession, or don't have an overtime at all. The current system is a joke.

I'd just take away many of the willie nillie roughing penalties that slow the game down, and make it leff fun to watch.

the tuck rule. it's a ridiculous rule

also, roughing the passer needs to be reviewed and a memo needs to be sent to the refs.

if you touch the QB after he throws it, it's a 15 yd penalty and it shouldn't be. so ridiculous. let em rough em up before you throw a flag

Roughing the passer and roughing the kicker.

If they're not be hit, why even bother having them put on pads and helmets?

I think you should be able to challenge a penalty. Plain and simple.

u shouldnt get 2 points for a safety you should just turnover on downs
