How do I protect my patio cement from dog feces?

I am moving into an apartment with my fiancé in a week and she has a small dog Chihuahua/Doxy mix which is going to be outside while we are at work (for obvious reasons). The issue I’m starting to worry about is there is no grass in our patio, only cement and wood chips so I’m a little worried that the months and months of constant pee and poop from the dog is going to leave stains on our cement that we won’t be able to get rid of. It’s not exactly a matter of ruining it because the apartment takes dogs and will cover that with the deposit but it’s the matter of it just looking awful, I don’t want people coming over and seeing nothing but giant brown burnt in stains all over the place. Yeah we will clean up the mess every day after work but you can’t clean up pee after it’s dried and baked in the sun all day, nor can you with the remnants of poop being baked in all day.

Can anyone tell me how I can clean this and make it look nice? Or any sort of substance that can be put on the ground that will prevent this without hurting the dog? Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks for the help,

Dom.

Update:

She will be in an enclosed patio with a locked gate, fence is about 6 ft high so no way for her to escape or get stollen.

Reason dog is being left outside is so that it doesn't defecate INSIDE and ruin the carpet.

Use a sealer, available at paint and hardware stores.

The dog should not be left outside when you are at work. He could escape the yard, be poisoned, or even be stolen. Get a crate and keep the dog indoors in it when you are not home. Also, you said there are wood chips outside. What if the little guy decides to eat them and ends up with a blockage of some sort. I'm really not trying to be mean or anything, but I think you better think about the safety of the dog, rather than the poop stains. BTW, we have a huge yard with a beautiful flower garden. We have our yard divided off so our 3 dogs are only on cement. (large area of about 30 x 100 ft.) There has never been a poop or pee stain, as we clean everything up right away and also bleach the area from time to time. Much more sanitary as well.

Doxy/Chihuahua Mix should be just fine left indoors. If your patio is small enough the dog may not use the restroom until you get home anyway as they usually leave their "dens" to defacate. I think it is rather futile to leave a dog penned up and expect your patio to stay nice.
