When you're younger you dream of becoming an adult, making money, having a house, etc. But what happens when you hit 30 and NONE of those things have come true for you? I work, but I don't make a lot of money, I can't seem to get a job that pays more than what you would pay a 15-18 year old (Probably my fault for not doing to college I understand) but a lot of the time I sit and wonder "Whats the point!?"...

I have a good GF and we have an apartment together, but I feel bad because she makes more money and has to cover the majority of the expenses..Sometimes I feel like dying would be so much easier than dealing with the constant stress of life, bills, debt, work, and so on with no light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think I could actually kill myself, but I sure do think about it A LOT. I don't know what to do, or who to talk to that won't just judge me or tell me to "keep my head up it will get better" I just want to know if anyone of you went through this, did you get better? and how? Because I feel very lost right now.

Recently my cats have been jumping up on the counters in the kitchen, this is bad because a few nights ago a knife was left out after dinner and my cat was found sitting almost on top of it as if he didn't know it was there....

I've tried everything from clear rap on the counters, foil on the counters, and even the spray bottle, unfortunately my cats don't seem to mind foil or clear rap under their feet as I've seen their paw prints in the foil many times.

I don't know how else to keep them off of the counter tops, they knock over our cooking utensils, flowers, anything that's in their way. I'm really frustrated at this point and I really need some help, I need to keep them off my counters so they don't hurt themselves.

I've been smoking for about a year now, I have a 14" bong and usually get mid-high grade stuff, now I know before you say that I'm just getting different strains I'm talking about the SAME bag I'm smoking out of every time i pick up.

Are there certain times during the day or things I'm doing that increase or decrease my time of being high? Like sometimes I'll hit half a bowl and be high for an hour or like 15 minutes....It's weird not knowing how long I"m gonna stay high for so its harder to plan my day if I want to be high all day Saturday or something since I'm off work.... help out guys!

My fiancé and I adopted a one year old Ragdoll/Persian male mix, he is a “Kitten” but he just HATES us to no end, he won’t let us hold him, he won’t sit ON our laps but instead NEXT to us on his bed, he won’t let us cuddle with him, he wines constantly at us if we don’t let him outside (we don’t because it makes him sick, he poops blood from eating the grass and throws up a lot after being outside a lot) so we don’t let him. At night when we go to sleep, he’ll sleep for about an hour or two but after that he just does EVERYTHING he can to scratch up everything we own, scratches the bed, couches, clothes, anything he can to get our attention, but its 12am!!!!!! What are we supposed to do!?

We are thinking about crating him at night, but we need help understanding how to train him to be OK with that? Have any of you had experience with a cat from hell!? We do everything we can to make him know we love him, we give him lots of love, belly rubs, brush him, play with him, feed him, all of the above and he just HATES us. We call him Louie the little asshole because that’s what he is!! Please help us!! What can we do!?!?

My fiancé and I live in a one bedroom in Southern California (Huntington Beach) we work 7am-3:30pm every day, meaning we are out of the house by 6:30am and not home until around 5pm, we do not use a heater OR air conditioner and when we get home we only have one lamp on in the living room, the TV + Surround Sound and that’s about it…. We try as hard as possible to use as little electricity as possible yet I get my bill stating we have used 481 Kilowatts in one month, is that normal or are we getting screwed?

My bill is $65-$70 every month, yet my mom who lives in a 2 bedroom pays about $25-$30 a month, how is our bill DOUBLE when we are barley home and not using much when we ARE there?!!? Can someone PLEASE help me with this? Someone who has EXPERIENCE PLEASE!!!! I am trying to get enough ammo to fight Edison about this and get them to lower my freaking bill already, it’s getting out of control!

Moved into our first apartment with my fiancé 3 months ago, ever since we moved in the dumb bi*ch neighbor has thrown LOUD parties until 4am during the week, we have both been sick because of the immense lack of sleep she is causing us. Just the other night her party started at 12am and didn’t dispurse until 6am, we call security but she tells them to f-off, we called the cops and she didn’t answer the door when they came, we work Monday through Friday and she parties Sunday through Thursday, apparently she works during the weekend as a hooker or umm something that only allows her to work 3 days out of the week to pay her bills.

She is a GIANT cu*t, we’ve asked her to please be quiet and she just tells us to mind out own f’ing business, we are trying to think of ways to get back at her for this since she won’t comply with authority, our manager said she is working on evicting her but that could take 30-60 days and we can’t miss sleep for that long!! Usually on Saturday and Sunday mornings around 10am, we blast our Bose system really loud to hopefully disturb her sleep but it doesn’t seem to get the point across. Without being violent or destroying her property we need a way to get back at her for what she’s doing, what should we do? We thought about picking up some dog poop around the courtyard and throwing it at her door, but then again we would probably get in trouble for that!!

Anyone with any GOOD ideas that won’t put us in jail will get best answer plus a full star raiting!! Please help!!

He’s a 1 year old Ragdoll/Persian mix, we let him outside in the patio and until this weekend he had never attempted to escape the back before, earlier Saturday I found him walking on top of the brick wall, I grabbed him off and put him inside, later on that day I went out to get him and he was gone, luckily my neighbor spotted him and I was able to grab him and bring him back in, he jumped from the chairs, to the table, to the wall, we don’t know what to do because we moved the table as far back as possible and he still got out, has anyone also had this problem? And if so, how did you fix it? What are some ways for me to fix this?

My fiancé said to lean the chairs into the table but I’m afraid he’ll just leap over them and onto the table again, some cats can jump as far as 15 feet… We’ve tried not letting him outside but it’s not possible, if we don’t let him out he will howl for hours on end until we open the door, or if we ignore it, the SECOND we open the door he darts out like the place is on fire. He just sits in the back plotting on how to escape, he won’t do it with us outside, only when we go in. We don’t want to be cruel and hit him or spray him with water because it will do no good and it’s mean!

What else can we do? We live in apartments so I don’t think we can put additional material at the top of the wall to keep him from jumping over, please help!!

Moved in with my fiancé a month ago, got our first Edison bill and it was $55, our neighbor has a 2 bedroom and he works from home, his bill is $40 a month, how can ours be more? Could our fridge be old and causing the energy to sky rocket? We try our hardest to conserve as much electricity as possible, we are gone from 6:30am to 5pm every day, we only use the living room about 4-5 hours a night which is just the TV and a few lamps, how could that cause such a high bill? Is there something we can do to get the bill down?

I don’t know how much less we could use without just leaving everything off all of the time? We are so confused, Edison came out and re-read the meter and said it was consistent, we just don’t know what else to do, can you please help me to figure out what the issue is? Maybe you’re an electrician and you know about this stuff? The only option we think is the fridge is so old that it’s costing a lot of money? The fridge came with the apartment so we don’t know what else it could be… please help…

I’ve been wanting to release some creativity lately, I feel as if I’m holding in things that I shouldn’t e.g., writing music, singing, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to start or be in a band.. The only problem is that I’ve never been in a band and I really have no idea if I’m good or not… I’ve jammed with a few bands who said that my vocals were ok but not their style, I have a deep voice that’s a bit raspy when high notes are hit, um almost kinda like…. A Hoobastank kinda sound, but of course my voice is a lot deeper and I can’t hit the high notes he does…

Anyways, I need some help, what are some good vocal exercises and what’s the best way to hear what I sound like? Should I be recording myself? Should I have people listen to me and tell me what they think? Friends are hard because they don’t want to hurt your feelings, any help would be great but I need advice so I can start pursuing something!

I bought my little Drift King about 2-3 years ago for about $70.00, but I didn’t get to play with it that much, for some reason with the battery fully charged and the batteries in the radio fully charged when I turn on the car the wheels just start going at full speed, for some reason it seems like the “go” button is always on….

I’ve tried everything I could think of but I just can’t get the car to perform again, if I put it down it just goes straight, I have to put the radio control into reverse to slow it down so I can chase after it and turn it off, does anyone here know what the problem is and if it’s something I can fix? There are a few hobby shops around my area that may be able to fix it but we all know how expensive that can be so I thought I’d try here first, I’ d really appreciate any help I can get.

We’ve had our kitty for about a month now, he is neutered and well behaved (for the most part, he’s 1 so he gets into things he shouldn’t!) He is a Ragdoll/Persian mix and VERY pretty, lately though my fiancé and I have been wondering why he isn’t affectionate with us, he lets us pet him and hold him but only for a little bit, maybe a minute or two? Then he wants down, he never sits in our laps, occasionally he’ll sit NEXT to us or sleep at the foot of the bed, we play with him every day when we get home from work for about an hour/hour and a half so we know it’s not that.

The funniest thing happened last night though that I wanted to see if anyone could help me with, I fell asleep on the couch and at about 3:30am I went into the bedroom to go back to bed with my fiancé, Louie(our kitty) jumped up on the bed and crawled above our heads (He usually does this because the bed is right under the window) I was on my back and had my hand behind my head, he licked my hand about 3 times, then stopped, then licked it again 3 or 4 times, then walked onto my chest and plopped his cute little head on my cheek and slept there until the alarm went off (when I woke up his head was under my chin).

Does this mean he is FINALLY coming around to loving us as his own? Because we’ve had our doubts lately if he really cares for us (as cats do) or if he just is there for the food and water lol… We love him a lot and want him to love on us more! I was really excited last night that he decided to give me his affection, should we be expecting more of this? What does it mean exactly? With the licking and putting his head on my face? What can we do to get him to want to cuddle with us more often??

I was approached by 2 men from a church at my home a few weeks ago, they were trying to promote voting yes on prop 8, I told them I was agnostic and didn’t believe in passing laws based on the bible and “god’s word” they argued with me telling me atheism is a sin, then I made them feel REALLY stupid when I explained the difference between agnostic and atheist, I told them that I would give them my word to vote yes on prop 8 if they could give me ONE reason why prop 8 is going to ruin the country that DOES NOT involve ANY religion what-so-ever, bottom line is after a while of stumbling they could not give me a reason, especially when I told them that the divorce rate is ALREADY over 50% so why can’t the gays suffer like the rest of us? I told them that even though I don’t know much about the bible I know that god is supposed to love all of his “creatures” because he CREATED them so why would he hate his OWN creations? Once again, they had nothing relevant to say, I told them to please leave my doorstep and to maybe think about having an open mind and to stop hating and discriminating against people for their life choices especially since it does not affect them in any way shape or form, not to mention that prop 8 has nothing to do with teaching children about gay marriage, but don’t you think it’s a good idea to teach them young? Maybe if our children knew more about the subject we wouldn’t have gays and lesbians beat to death and discriminated on all around the country.

Why are the Jesus freaks so concerned about prop 8? How come it’s ok for a gay couple to be together for 13 years but it’s not ok for them to get married? Why is Jesus the one who says he loves all of his creatures yet these people are promoting hate and discrimination? Why can’t we just let people be? If we ban gay marriage we might as well start up slavery again right? We might as well open up some concentration camps and kill Jewish people again right? If we are going to hate and discriminate why only chose gays and lesbians? I think it’s so extremely unfair to treat people like this when they aren’t doing anything to hurt anyone, if they’ve been together for 20 years who cares if they marry? It’s not going to hurt me any! I’m not gay, and I only know a few gay people but am not close to them and even I feel this is wrong, I would like to hear YOUR point of view on the subject WITHOUT ANY and I repeat ANY religious background. I want to hear 2 sides, you’re for it and why, or you’re against it and why, if you’re against it please do not include ANYTHING based on religion or the bible, I want to see if there is ANYONE out there that can REALLY justify why we should blatantly discriminate against people for the way they were born.

Just moved in with my fiancé a week ago after 2 years together, she has a 6 year old (33 years converted) Doxy/Chihuahua mix that from the day she was brought home as a puppy has been coddled and babied by my fiancé, was always allowed to sleep in the bed, whined for attention and got it, was always allowed to sit on her lap for hours at a time and now after we’ve moved in the dog has gotten to be just impossible to live with. At her old house she was surrounded by people all day and another dog, at our apartment we are gone from 6AM to 5PM for work Monday through Friday leaving her alone all day (I told my fiancé that an apartment is no place for a dog but she wouldn’t hear it) when we get home at the end of the day she cannot be put down by my fiancé, she will sit on the couch with the dog on her lap for 2-3 hours at a time and go to put the dog in its bed by the couch and the dog will whine and whine and whine until it is picked back up again, this is a HORRIBLE habit because there is NO time for US to spend together because she has to coddle the dog like it’s a newborn.

At night time she whimpers and whines so much that we have had only 3-4 hours of sleep every day for the last 7 days, doesn’t matter if her bed is in the living room, or in our room by the bed, she whines and begs for my fiancé to A. Bring her on the bed which I do not condone because dogs are filthy, or B. go to the living room and play with her, neither of which we can do especially considering we need to get up at 5AM to get ready for work…. We talked to the vet today who is going to give us a sedative for the dog to make her sleep at night, but we know that cannot last forever for obvious reasons. My question is can this behavior EVER be broken? I suppose we can get the sleeping under control but the hours and hours of attention seem to be blasted into her brain so much so that she cannot be put down for any length of time without begging and whining to be picked up again, I know it’s HER fault for coddling the dog for so long but the behavior needs to stop as it’s causing us to fight a lot lately….

I am at a crossroads here, my fiancé is so attached to that dog that she balls her eyes out just TALKING about giving it away to someone who can better tend to it during the day, I don’t want to hurt my fiancé but I can’t live with the dog like we are now, I want to spend time with my fiancé and not have to take a second seat to a freaking dog every day, no it’s not a jealousy thing it’s more annoying than anything, I want to spend time with her but if I want a quiet house she has to shove the dog up her you know what just to get it to calm down and shut up. What in the world do we do? My opinion is that she needs to go to a family who is home during the day to pay attention to her, am I wrong? We can’t afford formal training and I think it may even be too late to reverse the dog’s behavior since this is ALL she has known for so long, please help what can we do!?!?!??! What’s the best thing to do in this situation!??! How do I convince her that a one bedroom apartment with a small patio is not a place for a dog?

So I moved in with my fiancé this week and she has a Chihuahua/Doxy mix about 7lbs that we moved from her mother’s house, we have a decent enough sized gap between the gate and the ground that we’ve been trying to barricade so the dog doesn’t get out, the problem is that she got out 4 times over the last 3 days and we don’t know what to do. She is being VERY defiant and not listening to our commands, she is escaping from the patio and whining like she’s hurt, we keep disciplining her but it doesn’t stick.

We are getting Sour Apple spray that the pet store suggested because it foams up their mouth and they don’t like it, we are also building a door in the bottom of the gate that will lock so she can’t get out but we are wondering what the adjustment time is for dogs? People are telling us give her 2 weeks to get used to her new surroundings but it’s so bad that we are thinking about giving the dog to a friend because she’s being so much trouble and ruining our apartment by making us do nothing but discipline her after work and I’m getting to the point where I’m not excited to get to my new apartment because I know I’m gonna have to deal with the dog when I get home.

Have you guys had this experience and if so what’s the best method for discipline? Smacking on the nose isn’t working with her because she’s still repeating the same bad things no matter how many times we yell bad dog and smack her nose. I don’t want to continue smacking the dog on the nose because I don’t want her to be afraid of people because of it but we are so lost we don’t know what else to do.

I am moving into an apartment with my fiancé in a week and she has a small dog Chihuahua/Doxy mix which is going to be outside while we are at work (for obvious reasons). The issue I’m starting to worry about is there is no grass in our patio, only cement and wood chips so I’m a little worried that the months and months of constant pee and poop from the dog is going to leave stains on our cement that we won’t be able to get rid of. It’s not exactly a matter of ruining it because the apartment takes dogs and will cover that with the deposit but it’s the matter of it just looking awful, I don’t want people coming over and seeing nothing but giant brown burnt in stains all over the place. Yeah we will clean up the mess every day after work but you can’t clean up pee after it’s dried and baked in the sun all day, nor can you with the remnants of poop being baked in all day.

Can anyone tell me how I can clean this and make it look nice? Or any sort of substance that can be put on the ground that will prevent this without hurting the dog? Anyone have experience with this?

I was leaving my fiancé’s work last Friday to go to work like I go every day, I was sitting in the first entrance/exit to the building (There are 3 entrances at the front of the building for cars) the one I was at was an in/out the other 2 are entrance only, so I had to go out of that one because it’s the only one that allows cars to exit.

I was waiting for cross traffic before I could turn left onto the main highway when one of my fiancé’s co-workers came pulling up to the same entrance/exit I was at, she stopped, apparently because I was a little far left she could not get her Honda past me to get in (I was in a scion TC). She stopped for a minute, turned her wheel and stepped on the gas HARD, she slammed into my door causing me to hit my head and black out, when I came to my car was rolling forward so I put it in reverse and backed up a little so I didn’t go into the street. At the scene she told me (along with 4 other people including the cops) that her foot slipped off the break causing her to hit the gas full throttle and hit me, she apologized numerous times. Unfortuantley it was private property and the cops were unable to take a report, which is why we are having a battle with the insurance company because she is claiming the accident is my fault.

2 days later we get a call from the insurance company saying that the other party is claiming the accident was MY fault because I was “too far over not giving enough room for another car”, I responded to that by saying I didn’t notice at the time how far over I was, however, there are 2 other entrances to the building that she could have used if she felt there wasn’t sufficient space for her car. My fiancé overheard her co-worker telling another co-worker “It’s his f’ing fault for being too far over, if he wasn’t taking up the space I wouldn’t have hit him, I hope the insurance company faults him for it and not me”.

I see two problems with this and it leads me to my question, 1.) Is me being too far over while waiting for traffic to pass illegal? I wasn’t parked INFRONT of an entrance but I was waiting in it to get out of the parking lot. 2.) if she stopped and noticed there wasn’t enough space, then gunned it anyways (even though she’s claiming her foot slipped off the break) isn’t it her fault automatically for not using a separate entrance? And finally, 3.) Is it true that if you are stationary, anyone that hits you is automatically at fault? That was my understanding since I wasn’t moving and wasn’t blocking an intersection.

I’m with Verizon right now using the LG Voyager (cool phone but not too into it anymore), I’ve been wrestling with moving to AT&T next year when my contract is over but the only problem is I’m on a monthly plan right now that includes 450 ANYTIME minutes, UNLIMITED In Calling/Night & Weekend minutes, UNLIMITED Data (Internet, E-Mail, Text & Picture Messaging to anyone not just Verizon) all of that for $79.99 a month which I think is a pretty good deal considering how much I use all of that stuff!!

I need to hear from iPhone 3G owners about how much you’re paying monthly, I’d like to hear from someone who has the same plan features as I do, or close to it! I MIGHT make the switch if I can stay around the same monthly cost, but I’m afraid it might get a little high? Also, I’m in Southern California (Orange County to be exact) and am wondering how the service is here?

Don’t get me wrong, I understand what being pro life means, but in my opinion you can be pro life as long as it’s about YOUR life. Does it make you just as mad as me when these stupid politicians try to come out saying “I’m going to outlaw abortion 100%!!!!” Why does ANYONE have the right to make a decision that affects ANYONE else’s life? Did you know that Sarah Palin is opposed to Abortion so much that even if you were raped you would STILL have to carry the baby full term!

And look PLEASE, before all of you crazy religious fanatic cult members come on here screaming and yelling about God and blah blah blah, I’m agnostic so PLEASE save it for somewhere else. I am talking STRICTLY about the mere fact that the government seems to think that it’s ok to tell everyone what to do with their own body. I think it’s fine if you want to be pro life but it should be about your body and your life not everyone else’s. I do not think it’s fair, or moral, to tell another woman “You can’t have an abortion because I don’t believe in it” well it’s not your body or your decision so stay out of it! Am I wrong!?

There are more children in foster care and on the streets than there are people to take care of them in this world, and contrary to your beliefs not EVERY single newborn is adopted right at birth, a lot of them stay in foster care for long time. Look at this way, if our government is going to completely outlaw abortions, they might as well outlaw tattoos, piercings, hair coloring, and while they’re at it why not just make us all wear uniforms so we all look the same, because if things like outlawing abortion happen and they get away with it, gay marriage will be outlawed AGAIN, and we might as well just walk around in straight lines waiting for direction because the minute you take away someone’s freedom to do what they chose with their body you might as well take away their freedom to think and act for themselves.

I’m so sick and tired of having people ESPECIALLY the government push their stupid a** religious beliefs on everyone, ME ESPECIALLY!!!!!! I’ll put it this way, if you’re Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, that’s all fine and dandy with me AS LONG as you DON’T push it on me!!!!!!! Want a free show? Walk up to someone who is very religious and tell them that you don’t believe in God, watch their face get red as they slowly begin to get more and more enraged that you do not believe in what they do, then tell them if they’re so sure to prove it to you, when they can’t they get even more furious and become almost violent with their words.
