Can I turn my yahoo group into a pay-for-membership site?
Can I turn my yahoo group into a pay-for-membership site and if so how would I go about doing so? There are a lot of members in my group who are willing to pay to maintain their membership within my adult based group and I'm sure there are plenty who'd pay to join as it is constantly growing in popularity. I'd hate to have to switch to a brand new website and have all my free yahoo group members go there to begin paying for their memberships. I'd much rather stay with the structure that yahoo provides and still be able to charge monthly dues to new and existing members.

Ability to charge an optional subscription fee for membership to your groups (we have no plans to get in the middle of the transaction, just make it easy for you to make sure members are paying).

It would take some effort on your part. There is no automatic way to do it, as can be done on independently built websites. When someone applies for membership your message to them would be to make a payment on some site like paypal or provide credit card payment. Then you would let them in. You would have to keep up with the payments yourself with one of the many billing packages out there.
