If you beleive what NA typically says "once and addict - always an addict"
But a person can be an addict in recovery.
I doubt Rush is still abusing his prescription drugs.
I do think it is fair to distiguish between a person who decides to break the law by using illegal drugs, then gets addicted vs a person who gets a back injury & gets addicted to the prescription drugs.

sure. i would not care usually, different than that this blubbery hypocrite has made a occupation over advocating severe rules like long reformatory sentences for drug addicts. different than in his case, for sure - he's prosperous, so he could get to flow to a spa. How thoroughly contemptible. what's much extra unhappy is that the folk who pay attention to him - working type white adult males who've considered their residing standards stay stagnant or decline - are the very people who pay so dearly for the flaws he advocates. they do no longer understand that the conflict on drugs is approximately 2 issues: the criminalization of poverty, and the suppression of wages by the slave exertions of the reformatory-business complicated. They no longer basically gets a commission decrease wages by way of fact of it, yet could pay extra tax on good to fund it (the conflict on drugs, which incorporates each and every thing expenditures 1000's of billions each and each year). yet they no longer basically are ambivalent in the direction of such wanton robbery, they help it, as Limbaugh and his ilk have effectively confident them that drug abuse isn't a ethical failure, yet a scientific situation. That attitude and attitude extremely brings to innovations the Salem Witch Trials and different previous persecutions in keeping with primitive superstition.

Nobody but Rush knows that.
What he did WAS criminal. Stole his housekeepers Rx. Got convicted in a court of law. First time offenders don't always go to jail especially if they have top legal representation. Next time he WILL do time so he's probably being careful.

Addiction is an illness that can not be cured, but if he's still doing the 12 steps, then he's an addict in remission.

Yep. Well possibly. Every time I hear him speak I think so. Good point though. He agrees with mandatory minimums for drug use. Wonder what his thoughts are on the illegal use of oxycontin and viagra. Guess he should be in jail shouldn't he. Since he broke the law and all.

He beat his addiction to prescription drugs he took for an ear disorder. He had a common problem not a criminal one.
- Anonymous1 decade ago
Possibly.
Although he's always been addicted to himself. I hear he lactates ego via his nipples, collects it and then injects it back into his body.
Everybody needs a hobby I guess.
