I have a question but can you answer it?
In the Harry Potter series there is a black dog named Sirius. There is also Sirius Satellite Radio and their mascot is a little black dog. Is there any correlation between the two? Did the radio get the name Sirius from the books or vice versa. Or do they nothing to do with each other?

Sirius is a star although popular culture mixes calls it a dog. The way they are said in both is with a long I but the star is with a short I. There connection is they are both related to the star. The star is in the constellation of Sirius which looks like a star. Also in greek mythology there is a dog called Sirius which they named a constellation for.

They are related to each other but only in that they are both named for the Dog Star, which is the brightest star in our night sky. It was named in ancient times. See the reference for the history.
