Don't Obama and McCain both sound like socialists?

One wants to "Spread the wealth around" while the other believes in puting " Country First" at the expense of individual rights

If there wasn't a larger symbol or step towards socialism than the wallstreet bailout then i dont know what is. And they both voted for it, but now mccain is sayin obamas a policies are socialist.. i find that hilarious. if he voted against it then he'd at least have a leg to stand on when saying it.

  • I guess my entire issue with the use of "socialism" is that most use it as if it is a total negative term. There is a bit of socialism in our governmental processes; there always has been. But some just throw the word out to frighten those on the fence into their way of thinking.

I would rather have Obama in the White House than McCain; I don't trust McCain, and I certainly don't want Palin anywhere near the Oval Office!

  • McCain certainly doesn't sound like a republican. My natural second choice after the candidate that I was supporting in the primaries would have been him but if I have to choose between socialism and socialized debt with privatized profits....well...I'm thinking I'll take full on socialism. France was lovely as was the UK.

I will be taxed more by Obama. because I make over 250k. I don't mind be much. Helping people in need is good. It's like donating to a 3rd world country without even donating. It comes off as a tax. I'd still vote for Obama. What's wrong with giving more?

Well, Bush is the one that took over the banks! So, I guess he is the biggest "socialist" by the ideas that get put out by others.

Actually, socisalism is different from programs like health care and medicare, but nobody listened during civics class.

You guys are going to have to get over this "socialist" phobia.

America is already socialist - it's just the corporations that are getting welfare ( and they seem to be doing all right).

It's not cancer - properly used, it can be a good nation builder.

Research what it IS, not what you fear it is, THEN see if it will work for you.

Well Obama did vote for Vet's health care.

McCain voted against it. So I would say no for McCain.

Socialism is very wrong. We spent many years fighting against. Now we want to ruin our country with it.
