Is $200.00 good for a 55 gallon fish tank ?

That's fantastic!! Go for it!! I've seen hoods run for about $75 alone, and filters for that kind of thing are expensive. Just the stands for 55 gallons go for about that much. Most 55 gallon tanks by themselves go for around $175. And that's just the tank itself, with nothing else (not even the hood)

It is a good deal, but you may want to look at Craigslist or Ebay. I just picked up a 45 gallon tank with stand and rocks for $30 off of Ebay. I only had to drive a couple hours to pick it up which was way worth it for the deal I got.

Good? $200.00 is a STEAL for a 55 gallon.

Especially if it comes with filtration, lights, airpumps, and the cabinet to sit on.

If something sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

Someone might try selling you broken or otherwise "defective" merchandise. Find out why the person is selling, and what (if any) problems they've had with the tank.

If they need to get rid of it because they're moving, or something like that, then it should be fine.

I got one for $50 before, It was new and perfectly fine, it came with the lid, lamp, emperor 400 filter and stand. New!
