Will inactivity cause you to lose your Top Contributor badge on Y!A?
I had a TC badge before I had to take a break from Y!A. I was building 2 websites that took up 18-20 hours of my day- every day- & I just didn't have time for Y!A for almost 2 months. When I came back I was no longer a TC in the 2-3 categories I was previously.

The top contributor badge is dynamic you earn it or lose it depending on your recent participation in a particular category. The badge is temporary so it appears/disappears on Monday without any notification. You can earn your badge back so Answer frequently and positively to your TC badge. Just like featured users or category leaders, it's another way to give credit to community members.

If you don't participate in Yahoo Answers for a while
and in your categories then yes you can and will lose
your badges.
Just remember that the top contributor badge is not
permanent
If you lose your badge or badges you can get them back
think back to the categories you lost them
Go back to the categories
answer some questions
you should get the badge back within a week
The top contributor badge is given and or revoked on Monday mornings.

Yes. It measures recent participation (past 2-3 weeks), and when that dropped off, you lost the badges. If you return to your previous levels of activity, you should have your badge(s) back in 2-3 weeks. Good luck, and welcome back.

Yup, that is correct. It is a dynamic badge and has to be actively worked

I could be wrong, but I think you have to maintain a certain quota of questions answered, as well as 'best answer' in order to keep your status. I read it in someone else's question a little while back. I'm not sure if it's fact though. :)
