I've had fancy guppies and a couple of tetras in the same tank as a male betta without any real incidences. I suppose it depends on the individual?

no most people don't know this but betas get along with a sucker fish you know the spotted ones that clean the tank those are great companions
Source(s): two betas(they are not in the same tank) both with those fish in the tank both thrived and are thriving - 1 decade ago
Betas should not be in a tank with other fish. Betas are known to hurt other fish. Betas don't mind being a lone and you cant put two betas in one place either, they'll kill each other. Anyways good luck.
