The early church, 30-100 CE, had no weapons or army. It was a peaceful association (or group of associations) of people who shared a common faith.

The government at this time was the Roman Imperial Government, plus a few subservient client kings in the Middle East. The secular government enforced its will using the army. The Roman army used swords and spears, and large rectangular shields mainly. The army also used small numbers of archers and cavalry, plus large siege engines. Foreign client kings equipped their soldiers with somewhat similar weapons.

The primary weapon of the church has been and always will be fear based propaganda.

They didn't really have anything besides persuasion until a few hundred years latter.
