  • Why is Steam downloading this game from the internet instead of the disc?

Fallout New Vegas. I've played it before. Taken it off my computer and now I want to play it again. Steam acknowledged my account and code, etc but instead of just downloading it straight from the disc it wants to download the whole game from the Steam website. This is very annoying as that'll take about an hour and is completely uneccesary. How do I get around this bug?

I'm finding it less functional and cannot open attachments sent from my work.

I've now opened an email account with someone else.

  • Are Viruses, spammers and suchlike able to use Skype?

I'm fairly new to using skype and find it pretty neat but suddenly I'm getting requests from people I do not know who are asking me to put them in my contacts list. I just delete them to stay on the safe side but am curious to know what the heck is going on and what risks if any there might be to my computer.

  • Where can I get a US visa waiver?

I'm going on holiday to the US. Where can I get a US visa waiver that doesn't require going through one of the scammers who charge money to simply redirect you to the appropriate FREE website? My travel agent gave me a web address but it seems to be blocked.

This is ridiculous! The whole process was so much easier and efficient when we had to simply fill in a little card and give it to US immigration. Issuing the visa waiver over the internet has only created a new money making venture for scum.

  • Was the initial bailout refusal just the politicians influencing the market for their own personal gain?

In the USA politicians are allowed to own and trade shares and in fact most of the Bush administration are corporate directors. In other (western) nations this is not allowed as it is an obvious "conflict of interests". Can't people see these guys have just played (influenced) the market for their own gain? When they refuse the first bailout, the sharemarket crashes enabling the politicians and their fat-cat cohorts to move in and clean up all the stocks they can at bargain prices which in turn drives the market up again contrary to general feeling. This alone should have raised suspicions. Then when they agree to the bailout confidence returns to the market driving stocks further up again and these dirty rats (politicians) have made themselves millions in a couple of days. Even before the first bail-out talks myself and a few friends predicted this scenario would progress exactly as it has and we managed to do quite well for ourselves too. But how can those congressmen and senators be allowed to get away with this?

  • How do I stop food sticking to a stainless steel frypan?

Oil simply isn't sufficient. I always wind up using a lot of elbow grease scraping and scrubbing off all the stuff that winds up stuck to the pan.

I heard there's meant to be some technique that involves frying salt or sugar or something that leaves an effective non-stick coating on the pan. Anybody know what it is? Or any other tricks?

  • How do I deal with an overly jealous and possessive Dog...?

I have two dogs (both desexed males) an Australian cattle dog and a younger border collie. The cattle dog is the alpha, very cool and friendly with other dogs and people. The border collie however is great with people but when any other dog turns up he goes crazy and wants to fight even when he'd obviously get beaten. Yelling at him and even wacking him has no effect. He knows the cattle dog is the boss but if somebody starts playing with the cattle dog he totally freaks out and pushes himself between them. What can I do to train him out of this?
