Who here truly believes that our taxes won't go up?

I believe that no matter who is in office, our taxes will go up. Two wars that cost us 12 billion a month, 840 billion dollars and counting for our bailout. We may not pay directly through income taxes, but I believe that the Republicans and Democrats will both figure out a way to raise the money. (Maybe raising sales tax, fees on licenses, etc.)

Am I just being cynical or do people think that Obama or McCain will raise money using slick methods and explain it through double talk?

Both of them will raise our taxes, I have no doubt about that. It's how our tax money is used that I'm concerned about.

Remember, campaign promises are only just that. Obama has never voted for a tax cut and voted for every tax increase he could. Remember his promise to accept the limits of public funding? Read savage politics.com's Obama vs. the truth and see just how good his word is. This guy would swear he could fly if he though it would get him elected. I have the guts to say that Obama is the leader of a special interest group. He represents urban blacks and that is why he wants to give thousands dollars a year to people who do not even pay taxes. That is why he wants to spread the wealth around. They are his base. I watched him tell the criminals at ACORN that they would have a big input in his presidency. I cannot believe that hard working AMERICANS ARE FOOLED BY THIS SNAKE OIL SALESMAN. I GUESS OLD P.T WAS RIGHT THEY IS ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE.

You're right, somebody's going to have to pay for the excesses of the Bush administration. But the question is who will have to pay in the most painful way?

Be assured, if McCain is the next president the people who get the tax breaks will be the wealthiest individuals and the richest corporations. If Obama wins the middle class will be hurt least.

That is exacally my point, why are people in such refusal to vote for obama knowing how obama will handel the tax situation--which is no bad at all, he is being honest and upfront. We have yet to hear how Mccain will raise our taxes.. he says he wont but he will, have you seen the condition of america latley?? I dont buy that he wont and all his talk about raising it for only the "rich of the richest" mccain stands for RICH america.. not the "average joe" its all talk.. i dont know how anyone CANT see through that!

Well, we're definitely going to need more $ to fix the record deficit that a Republican against increased drastically, a failing economy, etc. and I do think certain taxes will go up under both candidates, however, fixing government inefficency, cutting ineffective programs, and probably reducing military spending (under Obama) as well as getting out of Iraq sooner rather than later will make big strides towards balancing our budget at least, if not giving us a surplus like was done under Clinton. Also, programs like Clinton's welfare reform package do our economy huge favors. But, in a 1 word response: Yes, taxes will go up at least in some areas under both

I know they will go up. Take a look around, skippy. Our schools and roads are falling apart. How do you propose to fix this?

After Bush, you'll be lucky to have a job.

No income = no income taxes.

    I do.

I'm pretty sure McCain has it in the bag, and he won't raise them.
