If Powell had endorsed McCain would liberals be calling him a washed-up Bush loyalist who lied about Iraq?

"Obey me" stole my thunder. They called him an Uncle Tom for the last 20 years.
Powell did that on the basis of race, which the libs don't want to hear about now.
But take Powell's own words, "he is transformational figure." So what is being transformed?
Btw, McCain has the endorsement of over 200 retired Admirals and General and 4 former Secretaries of State. And the lastest poll shows McCain favored over Obama by the military by about 70%.

This a GREAT point!! Wow... one guy was defending Powell today saying that he was always against the War (but said he said that after he left the Bush administration). I asked him about the vile of WMD's he held up to the U.N. as a reason to go to War. He didn't know anything about that situation.
Great point though. I think you are right!! Someone said that he was tired of getting called an Uncle Tom. He broke basically, which I can understand. But, Obama? He shares no common ground with that guy!!

I'm probably a liberal (since I prefer Obama), but I still consider him a washed-up Bush loyalist that lied about Iraq. That's why his endorsement doesn't mean a thing to me no matter whose butt he kisses.

You miss the point.
Senior Republicans seem unable to endorse John McCain.
Now that says there's a problem with McCain - as it's coming from people who know him. And so many are now on record as saying he has the wrong temperament/has a character flaw.

If he endorsed McCain nobody would have paid much attention - and certainly not tried to racially correlate his lifetime of endorsements like Limbaugh.

I doubt liberals would have much if anything to say about it. The folks who seem to be making the biggest deal over the Obama endorsement are Republican's.

He would have been endorsing within his own party, and therefore it would not have been nearly as surprising.

Sounds right
