Belkin G+ Mimo router and USB Nework adapter probems?
Right so here is my problem.
I have just bought a new laptop and have bought a router and USB adapter so I can use the internet from the main connection on our PC.
Can anyone tell me how to get a password set up on the router... I need an idiots guide because I am totally useless!
I have connected the router with my modem and managed to get the internet to work on the PC but I can seem to get it to connect with the laptop and the USB adapter... again can anyone help.... and AGAIN I need an idiots guide.
Oh and my laptop is wireless enabled does that mean I dont need to use the adaptor?
Thanks people.

If your laptop has wireless capability and your router also supports wireless capability (which im quire sure it does), you should be able to search for wireless networks in range using the small single computer icon on your desktop tray (bottom right hand corner next to the clock).
After you carry out a search you should see the name your network if it is not password protected you should be able to connect to it immediately. Once you connect you will want to go to the router configuration page to set up your password.
If you physically look at the bottom of your router you should see an IP address which is a string of 8 digits for example "000.000.2.2".
Open a web browser and type http://0.0.2.2/ (once again an example except replace the numbers with the numbers of your router IP). You should then be able to follow the instructions on the router configuration page to set up a password.
good luck

here is a link to setting up a wireless network.
If your laptop is wirelessly enabled you don't need a USB adapter, just ensure the wireless is switched on - some laptops have a switch on the side or on top, check your manual, it may also be a software switch - acers have this

54mbps is the customary optimum velocity, in prepare you would be getting nowhere close to this with a instant connection, because of fact the area from router, partitions, electric powered interference all degrade the sign. in fact although your broadband connection out of your router to the internet is probably to be optimum 8Mbps so your instant velocity isn't the restricting component - your sluggish connection would be down on your internet provider provider
