how do you completely wipe a harddrive in a laptop. My boss wants me to clear his Inspiron 2200 laptop, and leave only a Windows XP operating system on it (nothing else). what are the steps?

Just put the windows xp disk in and reboot the computer, boot off the CD. During install delete the partition for the C drive and then recreate it. That should take care of it.

what computer is it? ninety 9% of laptops have a restore partition so all you may do is push a 2 buttons (diverse for each computer) as your computer boots up and 20 minutes later your computer is because it replaced into the day it got here out of the container.
