R&P: Which one? Bass guitar, Viola, or Flute?
I just one a scholarship for Berklee College of Music, which is one of the best music schools. Well I play many instruments, including the ones I listed above. I've narrowed it down to those three, and I can't decide which one to focus on as my primary instrument. So hopefully you guys can help me make up my mind.
Some pro's and con's for my different choices:
Bass guitar: I would be studying "Jazz Compostition which is entirely fine with me, but then I would be sorta restricted on the classes I can take that focus on the classical genre of music.
Viola: This was my first instrument and probably my best, I enjoy playing but the only bad thing is viola players are not always accepted by anybody outside of the orchestra.
Flute: This is my latest instrument, and probably my favorite behind viola, only bad thing is that there are A LOT of flute players out there.
Thanks for you opinion guys(and girls)!

Oh, definitely DEFINITELY the viola!
I love the viola, I have played it for many years and it is my favourite instrument - I really believe that if you are good at it and have a passion for it, focus on the viola.
It's true that a lot of people have misconceptions about the viola and like to poke fun at it, but the only way to overcome this is to prove once and for all that violas are the best! So keep playing!

Well I don't know if I am the right person to answer this question, but I'd choose bass guitar. I am a bit of a musician myself. I'm currently studying journalism, but I play piano, bass, and guitar, and would pursue a career in music if I thought I could make a living off it. Out of all the instruments I've tried, I have always loved bass. It's a great instument, especially for the music I play. And there are so many different styles to play with bass. It is necessary in just about every genre. And it is absolutely great in jazz. Jazz is such an amazing music. I think you'd really like it! I attempted to play flute in high school, but I just didn't have the passion for it like I did for bass.
But that is my opinion. You should choose whichever you are most passionate about, and are most interested in.

Well being a bassist I have to say bass guitar.
But otherwise flute, be like Ian Anderson or Florian Schneider (a lot of Kraftwerk contains distorted flute)

The instrument your best at, which according to you is Viola. I'm sure with all the avenues available at Berkely you will be able to continue the others as well.
