what is a good current event i could do for high school history?

i am in 9th grade and have to do a current event in history. it cant be about celebrities or sports. what are some ideas of things i could do that are happening now?

    You could do the current elections, the war in Iraq, bad economy... etc.

    the current election - it could provide a lot of background info on civil rights

    just google current events, or go to News.yahoo.com and just take on of the articles from there... =)
