why did obama say his sick grandma in hawaii was the last one?
he has another one in kenya, and siblings there as well. if she is so gravely ill *** we are led to believe why wait 3 days to go see her.it looks to be more of a ploy then a real emergency
omg i can't belive some responses. when my grandfather was dying i didn't wait three days to go. and to make the claim it is last one is just garbage. he hade time tomake campaign stops and to give his interview instead of rushing to get to her side
lucky my point is that he made a political ploy of it,if she was so sick why wait 3 days. he should have went right away if he was worried she would die.

Well, people, here is a FACT: When he and his wife and children were in Hawaii in August on vacation, he spent ONE HOUR with his grandmother. Oh - and didn't take Michelle or the girls. Evidently his daughters have NEVER met their great-grandmother Madelyn Dunham. Don't you think it odd that he would take his family all that distance, and could only spend one hour with his grandmother?
By the way - for those of you who don't know, this is the second time Mrs. Dunham has broken a hip. Statistically, MOST elderly people who break a hip die within a year. (Not all of them, obviously, but significantly more than 50% of them.) None of us know why he delayed his trip by 3 days. But oh gee - MAYBE it was because she had to have surgery and the doctors planned to have her in intensive care since she's been in poor health recently anyway? Or MAYBE it was because she would have been on so much pain medication the first day or two that she wouldn't have known he was there anyway???
Look, people, I'm not a fan of Obama's, and I don't think he's been telling the "whole truth" about his family relationships with the Dunhams. But I don't think there's anything nefarious being hidden. And the "whole truth" about his family dynamics are no one else's business anyway. His grandmother broke her hip. He made a decision to go see her. If he wins this election, this may be the last chance he will have to see her, especially if she does pass away within the next few months. My own grandmother broke one hip, had surgery, recovered just fine, went home, was doing great, and 3 months later broke the other hip. Had surgery, went into a rehab/nursing home unit next to the hospital for 3 or 4 weeks until she was ready to go home, and died the day she was supposed to be discharged. I've been where he is right now. If you want to criticize him, find something substantive relating to the ISSUES. But leave his grandmother alone. He's entitled to visit her whenever he chooses.
The Hawaii lawsuit was dismissed yesterday, for those who aren't keeping score. Andy Martin, the man who filed that suit, was scheduled to fly back to the mainland yesterday, very late in the day. His blog is at

and let me tell you, this man is completely off his rocker. This is such nutcase wingnut type stuff, I don't even recommend that you read it.

Obama actually said, “My grandmother's the last one left” .
In context, he said when his mother was sick, he thought he had more time to go see her, but she died suddenly. With his grandmother now gravely ill, he's afraid that if he doesn't go see her now, he would regret it if she died and he put a couple days of the campaign before the life of a loved one.
Once he becomes President, then he has to put the country first. But at this point, he will never have a 2nd chance with his grandmother, so its important that he visit with her before she dies.
In regards to your comment about his grandmother in Kenya, yes, she's still alive, but when he said, "the last one" he was talking about the women in his life that were his role models as he grew up, and who guided him/shaped him in his beliefs and his education. In this instance it would exclude the grandmother in Kenya as she did not have a profound influence in his upbringing.

This woman raised Obama. I know that I never even knew any grandmother I had except my maternal grandmother. I also know that my dead beat dad left when I was two. Don't know much about that side of the family.
I am so happy for you that you have so many grandmothers to visit. That is great. Many are not as fortunate as you.

He slipped up...she is the last one to know the truth about his birth. He went because reporters were going to ask her.....

So many are quick to critize, such as you , and yet no one really
knows the facts, other than what someone said, and to critize on that
shows the ignorance of a few.

Obama is going to Hawaii to tend to this lawsuit.
I hope and pray "typical white racist Granny" is doing okay. He sure did wait long enough to go and see her.
He has many illegitimate brothers and sisters in Africa but I don't know about a Grandma. The Obama's didn't want the Obama blook "sullied" by a white woman so I don't know how popular Barack is with the older generation there.

He meant his last white relative.

He is trying to get votes as usual making himself look like the family man.
