She didn't think she needed it - the Republican National Committee is behind the purchases. You don't think Hillary has spent at least that much on her pant suits? I promise, Hillary isn't wearing $45 pants suits from Sears.

You know these campaigns have image consultants, even for the men. They're told what color and cut for their suits, what color shirts, what ties to wear with which suit/shirt combination. Chances are, the wardrobe selections and purchases were done by the image consultants, with Gov. Palin getting the final say-so on each outfit.

And remember, what was bought will be donated to charity after the election. The clothes will be auctioned off to benefit the charity. (Princess Diana and Jackie Kennedy did the same thing during their lives.)

Oh - and there IS a taxable dollar amount associated with Gov. Palin's use of the clothing. It's called "non-cash compensation". If you drive a company car, you have to keep meticulous records of your mileage and how many miles were for business and how many were for personal use, and at the end of the year the value of the personal use of the company vehicle is added to your W-2 as "non-cash compensation."

When clothing designers let Hollywood starlets "borrow" clothing for premieres and parties and awards shows, they're supposed to report the starlet's use of their clothing as income.

If Gov. Palin wore her own clothing, items she has owned for 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 years, and much of it from places like Dillard's or Belks or the normal department stores that all of us are familiar with, you'd be hollering just as loudly that she has no fashion sense and why is she wearing the same outfit that you saw her wear 6 weeks ago.

She can't win with you leftwing nuts. But at least this money was spent with the ultimate goal that 1-the value of the clothing is at least partially taxable and 2-the clothing will eventually benefit an organization and people who are in need.

Is Michelle Obama going to donate any of her clothing that the DNC purchased for her? Anybody want to place bets as to whether or not the DNC will remember to send Michelle the proper IRS form so that Michelle & Barack remember to include the value of the clothing on their taxable income?

Hmmm strange - Most of these politicians get their cloths donated to them by designers. Palin actually goes out and buys her own cloths from the money she earns and still blind hatred wins out. the funny part of the whole thing is that http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/presi...

This is the arrogant condescension The left says they are for the little guy and look at where Sarah Came from and now she is running as VP but they just try to tear her apart See the way the left looks at average Americans, the so-called people they really care about:

and the media is focusing on this but hey dont dig into the Obama/Ayers

cloths that is the the real story, how much someone spends on their cloths cause you know Obama buys $100 suits all day long

Now should one buy a 150k outfit (I mean wardrobe) when there are starving people in America? Hmmmm ok I will bite, why not even if she planned on keeping the cloths for another day, don't we live in America where people have the right to choose what they want to wear and how much they want to spend on their cloths? I dont know, in old America that was the case. As we move more and more to socialism yeah there probably will be a time when the government will come to your home and tell you hey the most you can spend on a shirt is $20 that is it. But I am not ready for that day quite yet.

Now would I personally choice to buy a 150K outfit (I mean wardrobe) NOPE!!!! I can think of better things to spend that money on but hey that is why I am me and she is Sarah. That is why we live in America cause we get to choose, Just like Michelle Obama has the right to her extensive wardrobe.

"One of Mrs. Clinton's famous political fashion designers, Susanna Chung Forest, who designed Hillary's pantsuits, which, that's gotta boost the resume. She says that it would be unusual for a candidate as famous as Sarah Palin to need to buy clothes at all, meaning most of these women are not buying their clothes, they're given to them by the designers in order to get publicity, just as Hollywood starlets on the red carpet before the Emmys and the Oscars, those gowns are all donated."

How about that strand of pearls that Pelosi wears around her neck when she shows up all over the place? You know that strand of pearls had to cost at least as much as the $150,000 and they're complaining about with Sarah Palin's wardrobe.

This is the first I've heard about this, but who cares? If someone wants to spend a lot of money on clothes, and that person can afford to, then why does it matter to anyone else? Are we all supposed to wear Wal-mart and Payless all the time, so as to not offend others with less money? Some women carry $10,000 handbags. Big deal. If they can afford the handbag, then they should buy the handbag.

Not to come off as sexist, but women are definitely judged differently from men when it comes to clothes. Biden could wear the same thing for a week straight and no one would notice. If Palin tried it - could you imagine the hoots from the elites howling that Ma Kettle's heading to Washington?

The Republican Party outfitted her. I think it's great. (She certainly wears the clothes well!)

    She did not purchase them.

The Republican National Committee donated them.

And she will be donating them after the election.

Also, how much does Obama spend on his Armani suits? Anyone bother to ask?

Oh, and Obama has spent over $150,000 million this month on commercials..

So I really fail to see why you are such a hypocrite

did you not watch the news tonight! those clothes were purchased by the RNC for her and will be donated to charity or sold.they do not belong to her. i wonder if Obama will donate one of his suits to the cause.? i just wish to heck she would give Michelle Obama some tips on how to dress, she dresses about 20 years older than she should.

that's probably just garbage being thrown back and forth from one side to another, on that note, why do pop stars (aka people like miley cyrus) think they need that

She is actually spending that money on a new set of Mukluks for each member of her Hockey team.

If they can afford it, it is no big deal. But, when the RNC pays for it with donors' money, it becomes a big deal.

This doesn't make sense to me. . .she sold the state plane on ebay, she fired the chef, etc and she lets the RNC spend $150K on hair and make up? She looked okay before?
