I am not allowed to drive my grandchild in the car?

She is almost 2 and I have a properly fitted baby seat but her parents are insistent that I cannot take her in my car

I have not had an accident since I took up driving 40 years ago

any ideas why?

they have a fear it's normal, parents get like that sometimes. i know that i am kind worried about people driving my child around in a vehicle that i don't know anything about. that could be there reasoning.

It's just one of those things. Yes, I trust my own parents to let my daughter ride with them, but I wouldn't let her go with say, one of my brothers without me. It is hard for some parents, my daughter has had the same babysitter for about 3 1/2 yrs., and she does take her in the car, but nonetheless I still worry about it.

It sounds like they are just over-protective.

It's because you're old and old people are terrible drivers.

The worst kind of old people drivers are the ones who don't think they're terrible. Trust me, YOU ARE.
