Who knows the truth about Sarah Palin's Clothes?
Once and for all, let's get the facts regarding Palin's clothes. I want those who are misinformed to know the truth for a change.
Here is the truth...
Sarah Palin said last night in an interview... The clothes were given to her by the RNC, they will be given back after the election. She did not ask for them, and they are going to be given back, and either given to charity, or auctioned off, possibly for a charity. And for your information she does need to wear nice clothes, she's running for vice president. She is a middle class citizen and does not have a lot of money.
She is the only person in this race who is not a millionaire, and she says she mostly shops at a confinement store for her clothes.
It looks like Michelle and Obama both wear designer clothes. Why don't you go ask Obama how much his and Michelle's clothes are worth?
f8thfulr - Obviously you did not read my post, either that or you just did not understand...The clothes are not hers, she cannot take them back to any store, they are borrowed and will be given back after the election.
Nevets - You said before she became a Governor, Well Governors and Mayor's are not millionaires by any stretch. And if you would take a look at Palin's records, she has cut the taxes for the people of Alaska, she sold the Governors Jet, and that has saved an enormous amount of money. The money that is used for traveling with the family, like every Governor does, is included in what they get, and is not out of the ordinary. She does not charge the people of Alaska for that. The people of Alaska get extra money every year because of the oil in Alaska.
And as far as the point I am making here...I just want to get the truth out because you Dems love to take any little thing you can get your hands on to try to drag Palin's name through the mud, without even knowing the facts. And this thing about Palin's clothes is just plain stupidity!
BaRocky - Huffingpost, photobucket...lol, really credible sources.
Cindy McCain inherited her fathers business and became very rich from receiving that. She has the right to spend anything she wants on whatever she wants, it's her money.
And what part of "the clothes she and her family received form the RNC is borrowed and will be given back" don't you understand?
Last year, Joe Biden made $320,000 in income. And yet, how much did he give to charity? He gave a whopping $995...about 1/4 of 1%.
$500.000 for a home IS middle class, look at CA, or HI, or OR, or Maine, there are many places that homes costs that much. You can't get much for that kind of money in lots of states. My sister is a hairdresser and her condo is $500.000.

$15,000 for eight to ten outfits would be one thing(figure $1500 per outfit) but how can anyone justify buying 7-year old Piper a iconic Louis Vuitton bag. The cream colorer jacket she wore at the RNC convention cost around $2500.
"Most of Palin’s outfits, which work out at the equivalent of $2,500 per day, have come from Saks Fifth Avenue in St Louis and New York ($50,000) and Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis ($75,000). In September, items were also bought from Barney’s ($800) and Bloomingdale’s in New York ($5,000). Macy’s in Minneapolis have also benefited from Palin's shopping spree, and so has high-class (menswear) retailer Atelier ($5,000) . This information came from financial disclosures in Cummings' Politico.com article, which also revealed that the GOP had spent $4,716.49 in September on the governor's hair and makeup. Palin's make-up artist, Amy Strozzi (nominated for an Emmy for her work on So You Think You Can Dance) was also paid $13,200 for September, according to the Huffington Post's "Palin's Make-Up Artist Even More Expensive than McCain's" of October 23rd, 2008."
As for the Obama's even with Michelle's wealth, she wore a $149 dress on The View. Then there is this photo of Obama's shoes:

Note that McCain wears $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes:

Cindy McCain wore earrings worth $280,000 at the RNC conference.
And let's not forget Palin's per diem charges to the state for days when she stayed home looking after the kids and putting the kids up in $700/night hotel rooms overlooking Central Park:

As for middle class, the Palin's built a $500,000 home while she was still mayor of Wasilla. The home was built at the same time and just down the road from her $12 million sports center with the help of "contractor friends."
Biden's combined income last year was about $315,000 making him one of the least wealthy senators:

Biden still rides the train home from DC, btw..

I am pretty sure it's not her baby. I don't think that what she has done is awful at all. A lot of mothers have done this same thing for their kids and grandkids. I think it will haunt her now though. Her story about delaying / traveling for 22 hours after she started leaking amniotic fluid is suspect beyond words. Committing herself to an 8 hour flight from TX to Seattle after feeling "mild contractions" is something only a fool would do. An expectant mother may risk her own life, but they rarely risk the life of that baby. Anyone who has seen the pics and videos of her when she says she was 7 months pregnant and believes the story has never been involved in a pregnancy / birth. There is one photo floating around now that shows Governor Palin looking extremely pregnant. The problem is that she supposedly gave birth 6 weeks from the time all of her announcement of the pregnancy. Staffers said she had never shown any signs of being pregnant. Some women remain thin during pregnancy, but there is always a very noticable bulge in the area where a human is growing. Governor Palin's "very pregnant" picture really really breaks the timeline of how women's appearance progresses during a pregnancy. A lady does not make it to 7 months without showing signs of pregnancy then begin to look very very pregnant six weeks later. That's just not the way it works. I think women who have had children will see right through this one. The pity is that this is going to really traumatize her family. I'm not sure she understood the incredibly venomous nature of the political environment at a national level. Given this and the pretty ugly ethics investigation going (which is looking kind of bad for her) I think she ought to cite something like "health concerns for the baby" and get out now. If she drops out now the scrutiny on her family will disappear.

That is a lie. She is not quite middle class considering she was clearing over 1 million a year before she was governor. She shouldn't be charging the tax payers of Alaska (who are really the tax payers of the united states, considering how much of a welfare-zone Alaska is) for the transportation of her children, 5k in clothing expenses for her husband, and she also charged the state for staying at her own house.
It would appear that you are missing the entire point. You actually believe someone who has spent more than you make in a year in clothing when they say they are "just like you"

She will do like many woman do, return them when Party is over for store credit. She will probably donate the Red "Tina Fey outfit" to a museum of something if she is elected.
I can see it now, Both outfits on display in the Smithsonian.
Tiny Fey's on a mannequin on the left with a price tag under it: $150.00
Sarah Palin's = $150,000.00 Price to pay for your Country= Priceless!

I do. I saw the same interview on Hannity.
It has been reported that Michelle is thrilled with her new 400,000 plus wardrobe, which she will not be giving back. Obama, himself, spent an enormous amount on his new duds. It was reported on the news that they have spent 500,000 on food during this campaign. Michelle polished over a little lobster and caviar snack, amounting to over 400 dollars, all by herself, at the Waldorf Astoria. She didn't even offer her waiter one tiny piece of her famous Apple pie that she has often stated that every American should share.
Sarah is a typical middle class woman, who shops at thrift shops. The RNC purchased the clothes for her entire family and they will either be donated to charity or auctioned with the proceeds going to charity. Most of the newscasters, many models, many movie stars, etc have clothes sent to them to wear to promote their label. This is not an unusal gesture.

She's running as a maverick, a hockey mom. Do you not see the hypocrisy, her daughter getting a Louis Vuitton $3,000 purse? While she talks about Joe Sixpack, Joe the Plumber, blah blah.
She's a wolf in sheep's clothing, that's the point.
One hundred and fifty thousand dollars for a few weeks of campaigning, give me a break.

Besides... if she really does wear those clothes normally, then why the heck did she go to Wal-mart to buy diapers for Trig... I am sorry but anyone that is willing to go into Wal-mart for supplies is typically middle class or lower... or at least can identify with them more...

I am glad someone else heard this story like me. They need to leave the whole clothes issue out... Gosh, they are just trying to get anything on her.... Like they said in that interview... she is the only one running for vice president/president who is no a millionaire. I think there are more important issues to talk about like the economy, war etc. I hope they leave the clothes issue out for now on, and focus on other issues that has to do with the United States.
