Could be old or new school folk or folk rock.
I gotta try out some new(er) school folk, like Ani DiFranco & Iron & Wine, etc...
DT- Pete Seeger is a hero of folk! Ever since I saw that PBS doc' about him, man- I've had newfound greater respect for him. Last of the (real) old school folk singers. Glad I got to see him in concert.

I do like some folk rock. My favorite folk artist is Iron & Wine
Upward Over the Mountain

That is actually probably also my favorite acoustic song. Folk is such an emotionally driven genre of music.

Yep.
Bob Dylan (Folk/rock)

Very soothing, and real music.

I'm not too good with genres and their subgenres...but I'll try and get it right.
Bob Dylan
Johnny Cash

Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst
(and Wilco, maybe? and Joshua James)
Like I said, I'm not too swell with the categories...But any folk will do; one of my favorite genres.
