    You can lose points by:

    ------>Asking questions (-5points),

    ------>Deleting an Answer (-2 points),

    ------>Receiving a Violation (-10 points)

    Sounds like u received a violation and an answer got deleted. Check your e-mail or look at your ACTIVITY DETAILS (a green tab) on your Yahoo Answers home page: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt=Akd4mDW2r...

    You lost 12 points after your answer incurred a violation of the Community Guidelines. Go to the Violation Notice email that Customer Care sent you-this will show you which answer was deleted as a result.

    As for losing points, here they are:

    1. Asking a question: -5 points (limit the number of questions that you can ask until attaining higher levels; you can ask unlimited questions once reaching Level 5 that starts off at 5,000 points)

    2. Incurring a violation in a question: -10 points

    3. Incurring a violation in an answer: -12 points

    4. Filing a false violation appeal: -10 points (in addition to the last two items)

    5. Self-deleting your answer: -2 points.

    You had an answer in violation and it was removed (-2), as a penalty, you were assessed a like of Worst Answer and you lost 10 for that

    Go to your profile and look at your activity tab, before doing anything else. It will show the deductions and the question involved.
