Cal State Question...?
Well, I should say questions...
I'm currently a senior, with a g.p.a of 3.3 - 3.4, active in extra curricular activities, clubs, and volunteering.
I meet the A-G requirements, but I terribly slipped on the new SAT test (1250). Will the SAT really change my chances in getting accepted to any Cal State. I heard they ignore the scores, or add them to the specific g.p.a and do some crazy stuff?
I'm also bit confused about how the Cal State eligibility works, for example '3.0 and above qualifies for any score' meaning they will accept my score now, and reject me later? or is it really depending on my transcript? >.>
Thanks in advanced.
I live in-state if that helps x-p

Don't really worry about it.
If your G.P.A is above 3.0 your chances of getting into a Cal State are almost guaranteed. In regards to the SAT scores, do not even worry. Cal States do not care about your SAT scores as long as your GPA is above 3.0. I tell you this for personal experience. Since mine was above a 3.0 I got accepted into all the Cal States of my choice and yet my SAT was not that great either. Also, it doesn't matter what SAT you have taken (New version or old)
One more thing, if you are involve in extra curricular activities, volunteering, clubs, etc... You will get into the Cal State of your choice because you are showing leadership in academically and in the community.
Unless your GPA is lower than a 3.0, then they look at your SAT scores. *(My friend works in the admission office at Cal State, LA so that's how I know). Once you get accepted (most likely you will) they would not reject you at all regardless of anything. Unless you've lied about your transcript. They barely care about your last transcript if your GPA is on 3.3 or 3.4 like yours.
From personal experience, you have a spot reserve at any Cal State!

When I was accepted at Cal State in 2004, they ignored your SAT score if your GPA was 3.0 or higher. I don't know if things have changed. Needless to say, I got in to Cal State with a 2.9 and a 980 SAT (old SAT). Unless you royally F- up senior year and graduate with less than a 2.5, they might revoke or suspend your acceptance. Relax, 100 bucks says your in.
