is Ashley Todd an excellent example of the lack of conscious thought today's Republican have?

McCain volunteer Ashley Todd has now confessed that she made up the story about being attacked by a large black man who carved the letter “B” into her cheek.

The young lady has issues, and I hope she gets the help she needs. End of story.

But let’s talk in a little more depth about the eagerness and even glee with which some in the right-wing blogosphere jumped on that story and immediately claimed it as proof of their worst nightmares coming true. So much of that story was unbelievable from the very beginning, yet certain people wanted to believe it so badly that they ignored all the warning signs and launched into full battle cry.

    I love this.

How do we know that this woman was not paid by Obama supporters to do this in an attempt to discredit Republicans?

The classic con Democrats have used is hiring someone to get caught defacing their own campaign signs. The opposition is blamed for the defacement and the Democrat gains instant sympathy.

The example is a very well documented and common practice of Democrats.

I believe this could be just an extension of that policy so I reserve judgment one way or another.

Yup..the Mccain camp pushed this without even checking it out. Poor white Republican girl assaulted by the black man. Thats the angle they were going for and it bit them in the butt

  • What's troubling is the fact that the McCain camp was all over this without checking its validity. Came back to burn them pretty bad.

Yeah it's real sad...especially since the "B" was backwards...duh. What's sadder is I wonder what this disturbed woman heard while volunteering in that McCain office that made her feel she had to go to this length...what do they discuss over there...sad
