Will This Country Ever Be Unified?

At the moment we are divided into two major camps, the Liberal and the Conservatives. The Conservatives feel that Liberals want to hand out money to people who do not deserve it. Liberals feel that Conservatives want a wealthier class while the working families suffer. All politicians talk about "reaching across the aisle," but few of them really do. Our government is currently at a stalemate because of political concerns, with no progress being made at all. Do you think real Change can come about and the two factions learn to compromise and agree? Or do you think these two differing political ideologies will lead to even greater problems in the future?

IMO; Unification can only be achieved when WE can weed out those in congress and the senate; that inhibit unification by their lack of participation in the process, as it was intended; or they have their own agenda; which usually reflects in a poor record of performance and apathy

    toward their constituency.

"Do you think real change can come about and the two factions learn to compromise and agree?"

On Capitol Hill, yes they can. It happens quite often. Among the voters, no, it is far less likely.

"Do you think these two differing political ideologies will lead to even greater problems in the future?"

    Yes, it will get worse.

Consider that Obama is the MOST liberal of all and McCain is the 143 most conservative. Who is reaching across the line? If any chance of partisanship available McCain will bring it as opposed to Obamas stalemate ideology. It is not conservative vs liberal that is in question; it is capitalism vs socialism. As we all should recognize by now.

Never. The country is moving in extreme opposite directions.
