Build yourself a simple degaussing coil. Hook that up to the secondary of a transformer which has a 12V winding and hold the pliers over/on it for a few seconds and you have no more permanent magnetism left in it. Make sure the degaussing coil does not get too hot! The process of degaussing should not take more than a few seconds.
The coil can be made of laquered transformer wire or any which has insulation which does not melt when getting hot. 20 circular windings of 3" diameter should be fine. The wire should be #14 or so or about 1mm thickness.

i think i learnt about this in grade 4. i think you need to get a magnet and rub it back and forth on the pliers because when its magnitized. the negative and positives of the atoms are all going the same way. so doing this, you scramble it and it becomes de magnitized. Hope i helped!

try to add electricity , maybe u can reverse the polarity of one part of the plier so they dont stick together

normally when you want to demagnetize something you whack it against a hard surface so the particles change.
