They didn't give a specific reason why but the corporation that owns that paper and 30 others has endorsed Obama.

So ! McCain actually has received more newspaper endorsements than Obama. The problem is the majority of Obama's endorsements come from big city newspapers, while McCain has received the majority of small town newspapers. The big cities tend to vote overwhelmingly Democratic. That's probably because these people want very few rules to govern them and the Democrats provide a mindset that do what you want without any morals. I do believe in the Democratic party has become a party of two ides one moderate and the other extremely liberal. The latter seems to be the majority.

It is true they endorsed Barack
heres the excerpt:
The Anchorage (Alaska) Daily News endorsed Obama on Oct. 25, 2008:
Gov. Palin's nomination clearly alters the landscape for Alaskans as we survey this race for the presidency _ but it does not overwhelm all other judgment. The election, after all is said and done, is not about Sarah Palin, and our sober view is that her running mate, Sen. John McCain, is the wrong choice for president at this critical time for our nation.
Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, brings far more promise to the office. In a time of grave economic crisis, he displays thoughtful analysis, enlists wise counsel and operates with a cool, steady hand. The same cannot be said of Sen. McCain.

Listen to the liberal answers here. "An Alaskan paper endorses Obama, I respect Alaskans again." So what happens when Alaska votes for McCain? Or Texas? Or, how about individuals. Do you now deem anyone who doesn't vote for your candidate somehow less worthy?

That paper is owned by a consortium of people who are left wing liberal nut jobs. Obama won't win Alaska that state is in the bag for the GOP.
This election is going to much more close than the media would allow the voting public to believe. Dream on lib's you may be in for another big let down as alot of people are waking up to the fact that obama is nothing more than a socialist.
I spent my entire military career fighting communists and socialists. I'm not voting for a socialist.

Newspapers (even large ones) are not always liberal. For example, the Chicago Tribune is conservative. The Wall Street Journal is conservative.
Alaska, as a state, is safely red.
So what does it mean that a major newspaper in a conservative state backs the Democrat? I think it means that they recognize the inevitable, clear choice for President on Nov. 4th.
