How much is my old laptop worth?
I'm going to have a garage sale next weekend and I'm thinking about selling my old laptop there. I don't think it's worth much because it's so old and I want to give a fair price.
Here are the technicals of it:
Dell
Latitude PC
Model No: PPL
ASSYN PN: 66902
INPUT: 20V 3.5A
Is there anything else you need to know? How much do you think it's worth for having a little wear on it, and being at least 8 years old?

Does the battery still work? If so, I'd price it at about $50 and expect to get bargained down to $30. Not a lot I know, but you can buy brand new basic laptops for less than $350. Perhaps you could try selling on Craig's List or Ebay and ask for best offers to see if you get over $50.

There's a lot more you need to know.
... Included operating system, Hard drive size, ram, video card, processor speed, current battery life, screen size, weight.
Anyway, if it's 8 years old it's very unlikely it's worth much at all. For your best idea of worth check eBay for a similar laptop and sell there based on what people are paying.

It is worth approximately nothing. unfortunately. After 8 years the battery is probably dead or dying, and they cost $100 or more for a new battery. The machine is too weak to run Windows XP or Vista effectively, and it cannot be upgraded.
Can't say much more unless you can give the exact model number. (PPL doesn't come up with any hits)

technical specs would be a lot better. But based on it's age of 8 years old, you'd be better off donating it to a local senior center or some place that takes old equipment to help train people on computers. Your local library or school might take it as a donation too.

This thing is too old - way too old, so that even the cheapest netbook on the market is better than it :( I dont think anybody will buy it no matter how low the price is because as you know, you can get netbooks for just over 200, and the thing you will get is brand new and much better than this

Eight year old laptop? Sorry to dissapoint you, but a lot of people above here are way to optimistic. That laptop isn't able to run a lot of programms anymore eh? Well, that laptop is very, very old, so i think 10$-30$ is a bit more realistic!

You would be very lucky to get $50 for it. Not really worth that.
Consider donating it and get a tax write off or give it to a relative who doesn't have one.
I give away newer ones than that because they are not worth the trouble.

technology advances every 6 months so those are pretty noticable price drops for any new computer after that time, since yours is 8 years old I would sell it for $50. try ebay maybe you could more for it.
