Is there any way to prevent a 3-story nursing home going up in a residential neighborhood?
We've lived in our home for 35 years, and spent years of time, effort and money making our backyard our private refuge. We have a swimming pool and garden. Now, the plans show that the 3-story building & parking will be within 20 feet of our back property line. We have a fence; but that will solve nothing. (The city council changed the zoning requirements to push this through). Sorry, I couldn't find a "legal" category.

You can try going to the county government or to court and seek an injunction against the development if you suspect there was a backroom deal to get the zoning changed and passed. You would be charging your city council with political improprieties or abuse of power. Talk to the county attorney. FAST!

I don't know what you can do.. but I sure feel for you. Take them to court maybe? Good luck in whatever happens.. cause I know I love my privacy.
